why not, go for the 100,000 layers, but as you said, in a deep-litter system that would be too much work and alot will be missed from time to time. An environmental control house along with the cage system will allow you to fully automate and at that level, automation is key to your success. Just put all your systems and processes together and you can do it. One day I'll do the same. I register again last night for a 30mins call with you. Its Linden Adams.

Debeaking.... It's done so the chickens don't peck themselves and peck the eggs. Worse case scenario, the chickens might kill one another if it's not done properly.

Economics of scale brother.... He can only peak at a certain number of birds using the deep liter system. Work in a deep system is heavily manual and labour intensive. Let's not even go into management and administration. It is simply stupid to do 100k birds on deep liter. It is 10 times more complicated than going automated.

I don't like it too but honestly, it is almost impossible to do 100 thousand birds on deep liter. Not advisable at all so cages are the only way.
