Older generations wanna be like this music is trash or besides age just people being like there’s no musical significance in these songs it’s not real music… Who are y’all to say what’s music and what isn’t. If a beat can get you to sway your hips or bob your head, it’s doing its job. Sometimes it’s about how a song makes you feel, not about the actual content and people be forgetting that. For example, I’m a huge Yeat fan but a lot of times I can’t understand a word he’s saying unless I look at the lyrics or something. Most people would say that would make his songs trash but rn I’m on a weight loss journey after medical reasons and experiencing abuse. His music makes me feel so badass, like I can really do anything I want and get money and be a boss. In a lot of ways his music, ice’s and so many others are helping me regain my confidence and self love.
