I dont understand that rule for some people for one reason and one reason only. Why the fuck do they just barge on in, it's like knock and wait for a answer before coming in it's just manners. That's how it is in my house. No locked doors because if I need to get to you for any reason I can't have the door stopping me, however that is followed by this rule. Knock and wait for a answer when doors are closed, if no answer knock fairly hard and wait, at that point just go in if no answer.
