Victorine's audiobooks have a predictable formula, the hero always has integrity and valour, & there is a bit of confusion on the way to something genuine. For me this is a good thing. In a world full of charismatic deceivers, as shallow as a dry creek in summer, I find her novels take me to a refreshingly optimistic place where real romance has a chance. They also help to pass time at work, and keep me entertained and happy while I perform brain numbing tasks. Her world is a better place & I enjoy spending time there!

I agree this story is so sweet and romantic. The characters Jalen/Shadow and Riley are fantastic, deep and empathetic and the plot while simple is engaging and fun. The chemistry between the two leads is instant and the process of listening to their journey of falling in love is so soft yet passionate and EPIC!! I demand a sequel where these two are married with children!!

Victorine - I have enjoyed most of your books that are available on KZbin. Unfortunately, I was the wrong audience for A Deception of Massive Proportion. Having been listed on the heart transplant list myself, I can say from my own experience that as this scenario may be possible, it probably isn't plausible. Social workers are available, I would say, in most transplant clinics. My social worker helped me to ensure that I was listed as disabled, receiving available benefits, and that a plan for future medications, hospitalizations, and treatments were accounted for. Just wanted to let you know that there is hope for those needing transplants of all kinds, and family members are NOT the only ones who would bear the burden of caring for anyone in need. That is GOOD NEWS for so many.

Absolutely brilliant story again by Victorine! But somehow I fail to understand in all these stories - Riley wanted money for Dad's heart surgery - she went to expose him so that she can get the payout and promotion - fell in love with Shadow/Jalon & vice versa- Why is it difficult to talk to him and see if he could be of financial help? Since Jalon loved Riley, he wouldn't have had any second thoughts about it. He had even asked if he could do something! Not doing that and then betraying him is out of my understanding!

While I really like this story, its sweet and romantic. I wasn't a fan of Riley in the end. She did a horrible thing forcing Jalen out of his secret instead of letting things just play out. I understood her struggles with her dad and personal life but that doesn't excuse hurting the man she loved. And I don't feel she truly redeems herself unfortunately or deserves him. That aside this story had my attention beginning to end.
@VictorineLieske2 жыл бұрын

I disagree, she didn't force jalen to come out about who he is. She was torn what to do and I think ultimately would have decided to not submit the article.

I loved so many parts of this story. The humor, the name of the dog. However, some parts were just unbelievable- hiring a famous singer to teach an art class, for instance. A masked man walking a dog or going to a restaurant unmolested. So many details that a famous singer would just not encounter. But, as always, the writing itself by Ms. Lieske is not in question, nor the voice of the narrator.
