When I moved from NJ to FL 30+ years ago, I was shocked at all the Confederate flags I saw. Over time, I came to the conclusion that the flag had been adopted as a symbol of "I'm a Southerner!" (as opposed to a Yankee from Up North). The General Lee is a TV show reflection of that.

Putting the decals back on the car is your choice and you should if you want to. But, knowing the reaction you will certainly get on the street with the car.... I don't think I would.
