Here's the thing: 1. Polls work the most for me - many people do participate. 2. Text posts are less likely to be seen - less interactivity. 3. Image posts get the most interactivity - more likes and comments. Suggestions: 1. I'd love the custom emoji reactions and live chat for posts, like discussed here. 2. Posts should be shown to non subscribers too, and subscribers should get notified about posts created. 3. More than 4 options to choose from, in created polls. 4. Media support for post comments - GIFs, images. 5. Communities should be made more mainstream, discoverable and accessible by ALL subscribers, not just the most LOYAL ones.

Need more clarity on who gets notified when we make community posts. Do all subs get notified? Only the ones with the bell icon on? Consider giving creator the option to notify all subscribers when they make a community post, regardless of whether the subscriber has the bell icon on. As a subscriber of several YT channels myself, i have never received a notification of any channel's community post (which is concerning!)

I have three channels with varying audiences for over 15 years & I believe I create great content in my niches, but the current trends are strangling my channels & I have watched dozen of click-baiters that proport to be giving winning advice (often repeated content) & I don't blame the algorithm as that is only doing what it is PROGRAMED to do which is push media to viewers while focusing on delivering advertising content to the max. YT is still the best free platform, but the trend is now to get creators to pay for audience attention. Many of us are now cancelling our Premier accounts due to this. I hope YT wakes up as TikTok won't far from delivering a free wide-screen viewing platform. Don't get me wrong as I love YT, but just a little disillusioned at the moment.

The idea to have everyone been able to post photos and links is great and also very scarry and dangerous. I have enough work to find all these spammers and inappropriate comments but then having to watch an additional feed on my channel which I don't have as much control over is probably something I would probably not turn on. I love the idea of a conversation platform on KZbin if the control mechanism is right and it does not create even more work for creators.

This sounds like something that could be abused by spammers or people trying to promote their own channel. And what happens if someone posts an inappropriate comment or photo? Will the channel owner be blamed and receive a community guidelines violation for the post?

Yes, sounds awfully like 'forums' ...something we looked at for our web site over a decade ago, and after just a bit of research, realised what an enormous [and thankless] task effective moderation and direction was. There are ample studies of how people use forums going back over 25 years, and no indication that they would behave any differently on YT, no matter what you wish to call it. It's a feature I would suggest anyone evaluates very carefully if it gets enabled on their channel. If someone at YT wants to approach me to discuss how '"It's different this time" I'd be happy to engage... ;-)

@@SultriAccess Yes it is - the question is probably then, is this form of discussion what you want for your channel? I can see some where it would easily fit, but others where moderation would quickly become an unwelcome task. As someone running quite a technical channel, I'd often like to be able to answer someone's comment question and include an image - just not at all sure I want to allow others to do so... all depends on your channel and audience ;-)

Allowing the KZbin audience to create posts on a creators personal community tab is a recipe for disaster!! Also, a ton of work filtering words and emoji's, etc... if you even added the capability to filter out trolls & spam, etc... Do you??? Trolls, scammers and competitors just trying to promote their own channel would have have a field day with this, at least they would try. Come on, KZbin, please care more about us. The bad actors are a huge reason I turned my comments off and I am 100% happier for it. Thank you but no thank you!! If you do this I will be turning this feature OFF. P.S. Please make it so we pin a community tab post. Also, allow us to choose whether comments are on for everyone, subs only or or just members. Lastly, can you fix the 'hide user' feature to actually blocking? Thank you for all you do.

KZbin has treated me poorly as a member of the creator community. I am currently going through an online cancellation defamation campaign against me. I have provided all the evidence, including legal documents, to support helping me, but they have left me hanging in the wind. To add insult to injury, KZbin is actively promoting the harmful video as the first video when someone searches my channel.

When is this planned to be introduced across the board? I'm not seeing it in my Dashboard yet. There's a Communities tab, but no way to do anything within it. Is this currently only visible for certain creators or certain geographical locations? I've created a Facebook group for "community" .. but I like the idea of having it here - where my videos are. I also remember the days of message boards so am hoping that, as with the living room analogy, the functionality will be such that I can effectively moderate the way a message board used to work (which also had the ability to start a live chat, by the way - cool idea). Hello, what i miss is a option for people on thier phones to join my channel membership, KZbin App is not providing this, People never go in the browser to log in then go to my channel then join the Membership, way too many stones in the way. Membership is Also not showing on the Apple TV App in the end of the Video on the End Screen. Can KZbin fix this? Can you tell more about the KZbin algorithm regarding different content and recommendations for it? I Have Videos on several languages, according to YT FAQ it should not be a problem but i see that subscribers not watching all my Videos YT might kill the Video? They say that they don't push posts, but by giving testing the beta out with only big, established creators, you are essentially pushing the posts out there!

You guys should add 'favorites'. to fix Subscriptions meaning nothing. Let Viewers pick their top 10 favorites (ranked) and that Viewer is shown every single new video regardless. Maybe even shown the new videos repeatedly just in case they skip it for a different video at the time. That way channels can measure how many 'real' fans they have. You should also limit how many channels viewers can sub too. 100 seems like a good number. When viewers are "sub'd" to thousands of channels, I mean what really is the point.

I would still go to Reddit to try to connect with my audience just because they provide topics related communies, not creator centered. I want to support many creators in a certain type of topic/business but I would never waste time visiting one by one. Actually you are creating the opposite of community, solomunity 😁

We expect many creators have already built a high following on other social media platforms, so this is being introduced very late in the day. It should have happened years ago! KZbin videos are already being shared to the other platforms and discussed there as a community, is this going to cause a duplication of work for very little return? There are many other things that KZbin could be doing to improve the site. Most of us know that picking up members/followers on Facebook, TikTok etc is far easier than picking up Subscribers here (for various reasons due to the YT setup). If this Community change does work, you would expect to pick up more subscribers? Are we now looking at the monetization rules changing, so you will need 10,000 subscribers to start earning?? If so, then many small channels will never get there and will continue providing their videos for free!!

Man, to be honest, I'm not feeling this. I will definitely turn mine off. This is giving me that open Facebook vibe, where every starts promoting themselves instead of helping build my channel. Sorry guys, this is a horrible idea. Especially for mid to large channels. It will be open season for everyone to start posting and promoting their own channels. I have a reaction channel and a lot of my subscribers are also creators. This opens the gate for them to start posting their own videos and things to drive my traffic to their channel. Yeah, I DON'T want this. The community tab is fine the way it is now because it's still about the creator and his channel. This will not end well for some channels.

All social media borrows ideas from each other. Snapchat stories got brought to other platforms, Vine/TikTok's shortform vertical content has been brought to other platforms, and similarly this Community tab seems to be a way to bring the Twitter/Reddit post/comment system into KZbin in the same way Shorts are just TikTok brought into KZbin. This seems to be a bit more like reddit, where everyone's channel's community page would functionally be it's own subreddit? I may not completely understand but it seems cool. A feature that could totally flop if nobody uses it (much like the current community posts), but this seems to have potential as long as *moderation is well-handled*.

That's hyperbolic. Creators want to make a living .We're all thinking of ways to do what we want to do and be able to eat or buy clothes. If you're saying that KZbin's "heart and soul" should have just been people making content for free, then YT would have died. There are plenty of people who make content because they love it. And they don't care about the money. And if they can do that and find some way to earn a living other places while they're just sharing here, then cool, But being able to get paid to do what you love didn't kill the heart and soul of creators.

Hi Rene, great video, but I have questions? I have watched many of your Creator Shorts, and I don't dislike the algorithm, but I have been around for over 15 years & I have three varied niche based channels & I believe I create great content & have seen my subscription bases grow. I more the turtle than the hare and I plan everything I do, including thumbnails & tags etc. My wide view channels are dying? yet they have a reasonable subscriber base for small channels, and I have tried everything, so do you have any advice? I also have a dedicated shorts channel and this fluctuates, so apart from not doing podcast's what am I doing wrong? I am not breaching community guidelines & when I use copyrighted material I ask for permissions. I do realise the sheer volume of videos going up daily can be an ocean, but I'm not getting many bites from my subscribers either? perplexed & worried, thank you.
