Interesting and informative. I look forward to seeing how beaver predation will be managed in the same area.

Great film it’s crazy that we import venison from New Zealand i have seen the deer population grow in the last 30 years in a big way and I’ve have been stalking for 30 years and that is basically 4 to 7 days a week I am lucky i can stalk 24,7 prices are a all time low the deer on a all time high 😮

The Fallow deer in the UK are out of control, I've seen game dealers refusing to take carcasses, due to how may are being culled.. its insane.

If there is a problem with deer overpopulation, and they want people to eat more venison, why not open these lands up to hunting by the general public? Then, you wouldn't have to pay professional stalkers. Instead, plenty of hunters would actually pay (via license fees) for the privilege of managing the deer herds.

Thanks for your interest in Cairngorms Connect Deer Management. One of our partners, NatureScot, are currently trialling a Pilot Community Deer Management Scheme, for those local to Creag Meagaidh National Nature Reserve. There is more information here: www.nature.scot/innovative-community-deer-stalking-pilot-underway-creag-meagaidh The Partnership currently employs a team of local stalkers, and if any vacancies become available, they will be advertised on our website. We do hope to be able to offer more opportunities in future, so do keep an eye on our website, and sign up to our newsletter here, to hear about the latest involvement opportunities. We are working to make Cairngorms Connect Venison more accessible locally, and it is available to buy at affordable prices from the Loch Garten Nature Centre during the summer months. We are currently exploring other potential collaborations with local businesses and shops to increase access to local, sustainable, wild venison.

The buggers are killing everything. Total disregard to seasons or deer welfare. Shooting with thermal optics at night and leaving the carcases to rot. The woke tree huggers have the biased media on side, I feel we are doomed. 🥵🥵🥵

It's best to leave the venison in the ecosystem where it belongs and it's nutrition is recycled, rather than feed humans who just extract and return nothing.
