Thanks for this video! Any chance you'll do a compare/contrast video with Star Citizen now that Starfield is released? I know they're essentially completely different games in a lot of ways, but I think those differences are worth pointing out along with their similarities because I'm certain the Venn diagram of people who would enjoy each game has a lot more overlap than people might think.

Naw. 50+ hours in, and loving it. Having a total blast. I agree with Morphologis, it’s special. I think it’s divisive because BGS wasn’t trying to appeal to everyone with this game. They made a game for those who really enjoy BGS games. Not for fans of shooters, or space sims, or GTA. Sure there are a few bugs (nothing game breaking), but overall it’s fantastic and I haven’t enjoyed a game this much since… Baldurs Gate 3! 😂

Fair warning for anyone watching this "review", it isn't much of a review. This video just praises almost everything about the game without mentioning the downsides to the game AT ALL. Here are the downsides: - Load Screen - Limited "Tile" area boundary on planets, you see that mountain in the distance, you can NEVER explore it. Each time you load onto a new area on a planet, it is essentially an entirely new planet. - Load Screen - No vehicles, no atmospheric flight because of limited boundaries - Load Screen - Seeing the same outpost assets OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!!!! - Load Screen - No windows on ships.... literally the only windows are on the bridge. This is because the interior of ships have no actual physicality because.... you guessed it... LOAD SCREEN, so you can't see the interior of your ship through windows from the outside. - Don't expect functionality of moving ship parts similar Star Citizen.... because of this and the reason above, you cannot do something like go out of your airlock in space and EVA around - Load Screen - Space has limited physicality as well. You cannot fly to say a planet and it's moon in real time... because as you guessed it..... it goes to LOAD SCREEN - Game Breaking bugs such as important NPCs flying out of walls and into space - A lot of times, terrible NPC FPS AI - Jankyiness with NPC pathing, getting stuck or clipping through walls - Biomes of planets not really that diverse. You see oceans in space... you never seen them on the ground because the developers never figured out how to get water on the terrain. - Did I mention LOAD SCREENS?!?! Without giving the warning in this "review" that everything that Starfield does gives the ***ILLUSION*** that the space or planets is big is going to leave a lot of people disappointed because of your review.

It sits as proof that you just cannot please everyone. If you take the time to do everything, people complain that your game is taking too long, if you compromise on things so you can ship a completed game within a decade (Bethesda registered "starfield" in 2013, and serious development started in 2015, so starfield is really only a couple years behind SC in dev time, and they started out with an engine that already did a large portion of what they needed it to). I'd be willing to bet that a lot of the people complaining about what is missing from Starfield also complain that SC is taking too long, lol.

I'm a 2014 SC backer and this game has given me 80% of what I wanted from SC, considering we might be waiting another 10 years or longer for a proper SC release, Starfield is an absolute god send. Is it perfect? No. Is it fun? HELL YES. At the end of the day a game needs to be fun, for me SC just isn't fun, I feel frustrated by all the bugs and time wasting things annoyances that I'm just too busy in my life to put that time in. I hope that this game shows SC management *cough* Chris Roberts *cough* how game development SHOULD go. SC needs to get into a fun playable stable state even if that means reducing scope at first, then they can slowly expand from there patch after patch. The thing that puts me at ease is that now that SF is out, I almost don't care if/when SC releases, I can just play Starfield. Great job Bethesda on a fantastic game which I hope you continue to expand on with more expansions that add atmospheric flight, more story lines, expanded base building etc. There's a ton of DLC milking that can be done here and I will gladly pay for it.

Then the robot was like your insistence on taking up all manner of random items has caused you to be in discomfort. Lmao! So I gave him everything and started taking up more stuff. The game is huge, and I realised this when I was doing a side quest and needed a digipick. I looked around and realised I needed more loot. Love it!!! I crashed once as I did not upgrade graphics drivers, so not the fault of the game. It was seamless after that, and I can't wait to go explore.

Thanks, as typical, an excellently produced and presented video review; you're doing some of the best videos and it really shows. That's showing as 3840 x 1600 at 60 FPS on my screen; I don't know if that's a real ultrawide with extra width, or if it's a cropped 4K with the top and bottom cut off. That look is certainly trendy with videos, and it is cinematic for sure, but in cinema they use anamorphic lenses to capture the format, whereas the post production version of that is just cropping the frame to look similar. I haven't decided yet if that's OK or not.

Hey Morph. If you drop an item from your inventory and hold E on it you can pick it up and place it in the world, including outposts and ships. It's not a great system because you can rotate a held item (which would make placing a buch easier) but you can finagle it if you try hard enough so you get something decent

This is not directed at Morphologis... I`ve been looking around at how youtubers are dealing with their early access to the game provided by Bethesda. I`ve been using 4 different accounts to verify that many streamers are shadow banning comments that do not support Starfield. I wasn`t hugely surprised, but it`s still sad. If you really enjoy Starfield that`s absolutely fine, but streamers that are preventing others with deviating opinions from sharing them, have truly missed the point. What I do like about Morphologis is that he`s taken a lot of flak in the comments over the years, but have always taken them to the chin and remained gracious about it. That`s character!. If you say the game gives you goosebumbs, I believe you.

I fully understand why the team decided to have cut scenes as transitions / loading points for stuff and is doesn't bother me as much as it seems to others. However, I do have a question. Do the load times and transitions ever get boring or feel long? In the past Bethesda games like Skyrim and Fallout also contained load points similar to this game, and these points would start out as being hardly noticeable since you were just doing basic things like entering a building or new zone. However, after playing for about 2 or 3 hours the loading screens, in my opinion, would get kind of annoying and repetitive. In your personal opinion does Starfield have a similar issue or are the transitions and cut scenes fresh enough to keep the player entertained and engaged?
@Morphologis Жыл бұрын
My feeling is that I spent a great deal more time in situe as opposed to traveling, plus the loading screens and travel time is extremely fast for me. Just a few seconds, maybe more, but then I'm playing on a high end PC. The reason is that the points of interest keep you there for a bit, looking about. That's me though, I'm interested in searching out what an area has to offer before moving on.
