He has a serious stutter. Its not something, u can "cure", u can only work with it and learn to live with it. But as with other unseen disability, ppl are very quick to forget or even refuse to believe. And thats why hes always been a gaffe machine. Plus, hes always tended to be more direct than most politicians, which is also considered a gaffe in the political world. And the worst, u can do to a stutterer, is hurry them along, hence why debate formats with short time limits stresses and only makes it worse. Add to that, that he was sick, tired and still jetlagging from crossing 2 European trips and a cross country trip in a week, its perfectly understandable. And if u actually listened to his answers or read the transcript, he gives perfectly sane and reasonable answers, only stumbling a couple of times, where the red light went on, and he couldnt control his stutter in time to get his point out properly. Ive been really disgusting at both the ageism, but also ppls total lack of understanding of a disability, that has absolutely nothing to do with cognitive function.

My grandfather lived to be 102! He plowed his garden spots with his 30 year old mule, Moss until he was 101! He voted in every county, state and federal election for 60 years! At 102 he has a light stroke but it didn't affect his mind or movement! The day he died, he told jokes and kept everybody laughing up until 30 minutes before he suddenly had a heart attack! I tell this story because President Biden has 20 more years to go! Stuttering is not a crime or a health issue! Everybody make gaffs, we all sometimes get things mixed up! It is not strange to say Vladimir Putin in stead of Vladimir Zelensky in a speech in which both Vladimirs play an important part. Sometimes the automatic part of your brain takes over.
