I actually really like Dwayne’s reaction; no shame, no anger, no disrespect or judgment; he immediately responds with a heartfelt offer to help Dion get some therapy and accompany him. It’s really a shame that Dion can’t accept the helping hand that was being offered.

I love how Whitley pulled Gina aside to talk with her about the situation. They were sorority sisters so I can definitely see that going down. Back then, shows were more about community. Now, they are all throwing shade, being catty, and pretending to be friends. That goes for the females AND the males. No wonder I can't watch most of these new shows.

Agreed so why are they always showing domestic violence one way? And when they show women attacking men we don't defend men we laugh at it and don't take it seriously. Where are the women who are ready to jump on another woman for attacking a man? Why wouldn't any tv show make an episode addressing that? Just curious.

I agree for the most part. My ex had bi-polar disorder and a mild case of schizophrenia. One day she flipped out on me over some shit she conjured up in her head and while I was sitting in my music room, producing, she came in and put my pistol to my head. Screaming and going off. I spent what seemed like an hour (but in reality, closer to 5 minutes) trying to get her to put the gun down, she got even more unhinged, she started to slowly pull that trigger... At that point I felt like I didn't have a choice, so I decked her and knocked her out and got my gun back. She tried to say I hit her for no reason but she didn't know that when she came in, I had my imac's camera recording the whole thing.

@99thJediWarrior
@99thJediWarrior 4 жыл бұрын
Crazy thing is that Deon tried to stop it from happening once to another couple only to get the cops called on him by the girl who was being abused. And it's likely that the same stuff happened in his home. He knows it's wrong, but it was happening in his home when he was young and when he tried to stop it, it only ended bad for him. I guess at some point he just thought it was acceptable after all that. Not saying what he's doing isn't wrong (it was definitely wrong), but I'm just saying that's probably what he thinks about the whole thing. Also the fact that it was happening in his home should say something. That was where it started.

I feel that way also. Most victimizers have been victims at one point also and no one helped them. I feel bad for everyone involved here in this episode...the friends who try to help, the man who probably doesn't even know why he is such an ass and the woman who feels it is her fault she is hit. Sad.

@@annasloan4744 I have a story about that. Not violent, but it’s similar. had a lot of anger and distrust towards my father. I was always uncomfortable speaking to him both in person and on the phone. I carried those feelings for over thirty years and one day I realized that the reason why I had those feelings towards him was because of all the earlier memories of my mother being unpleasant to him and all of the times she would project that same unpleasantness onto me whenever I mentioned my father and his family. Those earlier memories had never left me. I missed out on getting to know my father’s side of the family because of that.

I agree but after a while, when your grown, you choose if you want to be a product of your negative environment and upbringing or to rise above that and be better. And to top it off his fathered abuses his mother and it sounds like she stayed around . Once again I’m not excusing anything , I’m just looking at the bigger picture of both sides of the story being told here .

It probably would've. U never know. Guys like Dion think they can get away with anything. Like they're untouchable. I personally think that if Walter was still there, this episode would've had a much darker ending. My ending: Walter pulls Gina aside. Gina: Where's Dion??? Walter: Dion is gone, Gina. Gina: Gone??? What happened to him??? Is he okay???? I gotta call him, Walter!!!! Walter: Gina, Dion is missing. He's gone, sweetheart. It's all over. U will never see him again. Gina: (looks shocked, then terrified) Walter...... (breaks down into tears)...... Walter:(embraces Gina as she sobs) Dion is gone, Gina. He's nowhere to be found. It's okay. You're safe now. You'll never see or hear from him again. In fact, nobody ever will. This hints that Walter either murdered Dion, or he knew someone who could. 🔥

@leonwhitted5662
@leonwhitted5662 5 ай бұрын
While this episode of Different World addresses a problem that affects many of our African American men and Women the real concern goes on because it is not being addressed. Our society as a whole continues to promote men like this as the type of man that guys want to be. Guys who walk the walk and talk the talk about treating women like this character does. Many of them but not all of them are the ones who are pushed to the fore front as the type of man who is fun to be with, treats women nice by taking them places, buying them things and making them feel special. This image is what women buy into because it's fun and they like the attention. Yet, men who are strong and secure with themselves who are the opposite of this character are considered not to be desired because they are weak or soft or gay. Our society needs to stop promoting these stereotypes if we are going to end this inexcusable behavior.

You heard what happened, chick called the cops on him, there have been others that lost their lives trying to play savior, only for her to go right back to the guy, or get someone just as bad… after a while, just seems like it’s not worth the effort anymore…

He was trash af for not only being abusive but the facts he knew it was wrong, else, he would’ve been honest when asked. He knew he was acting atrociously.

Who's the guy in the blue shirt. He's very cute 😍 The guy beating Gina was horrible to her. She loved him. Her friends were so caring. His foot up his butt 😂
