DE has answered a couple times via twitter & devshorts that there will be more "real life style" weapons than just the AX52 & Vesper, they probably didn't show them via devstream because they're either not finished, or their blueprints come from the bounty rewards which they already said were not finished.

Ultimately we just haven't seen much of 1999, DE is playing it very close to the chest. They still haven't shown us any of the quest, we didn't get to see the twists on existing game modes, and we only got tiny glimpses of the relationship system. IMO it's going to be impossible to properly judge this update until it comes out because we haven't been shown any of the meat of the update

This is the equivalent of 5 normal updates lmao ofc not mentionning the two rework and the dozens of new weapons that are coming both with 1999 and coda weapons

The biggest thing for me was that DE has been announcing 1999 update as "the biggest update" they've ever done, and what they've showcased till now is definitely not up to that mark.

The tile sets are so cool and feels amazing. So if they can make the area a place to actually farm stuff long term it will be a good update in my book. If it's just 1 frame, 3 weapons and some arcanes then it's gonna be dead content in 3 weeks. Which would be a shame since they invested so much in this update.

you lost me at comparing the development time of warframe 1999 to fallout new vegas and left 4 dead 2. DE is not making a new game, they're making an update for a live service. warframe 1999 is not the only thing they're working on. they've been working on updates past and present to hold this game together because if it doesn't get new content for a month their playerbase falls off. it's not the same as obsidians "year and a half" on fallout new vegas. especially since videogames take much longer to make these days, and fallout new vegas had fallout 3 as a base to work off of and cut development time

​@@ksNanoSquid that's not my point, it's just something important to keep in mind when we're talking about development times. what i'm really saying is you can't in good faith say "DE has been working on warframe 1999 for a year and a half, and that's why i'm disappointed". think about not only all we've had release in the last year and a half, but everything we've yet to see they're currently working on, content that will be drip-fed over the next 2, maybe 3 years. i notice he tries to talk about game development a lot in this video and doesn't think about all that goes into it... it just comes off as pretentious. these aren't plastic figures made in a factory, they're art projects, and here a project made to support and tie into a decades worth of content and lore. i forget the exact numbers but the 1999 quest was confirmed to be long in an interview, it is not zariman like suggested in this video. 1999 is also something that DE has said time and time again they would love to continue to build on. i also want to say i haven't played warframe in 6+ months, i'm not someone that defends the game for no reason, i just have experience in game development and understand it's not as simple as time. they're doing something very ambitious here. it can't be compared black and white to games that came out in 2009

While I can agree a dating simulator is a totally unimportant addition to the game, you really don't seem very well informed at all about the development costs of such a thing: it's easy, one of the easiest game mechanics that can be programmed, a point supported by the abundance of visual novels on the market. More time will be spent writing the accompanying text than would reasonably be required to implement the feature, and that workload would go to an artist, not a developer. While we're at it, I will also say adding a large expansion to an already huge, very old game, is much more challenging than making a new game. Video games are extremely complex software and every decision made constitutes another confinement all future additions must fit within, some seemingly inconsequential implementation from a decade ago may still hold sway today, there is no way they saw this becoming as big as it is, and its quite stable for what it is. This doesn't excuse delays, they should know better by now, but it's frustrating to hear you disparage them when you don't know what you're talking about.

The new game mode is going to have full teams of Thermal Sumder Titania. It's quite possible people will struggle to keep up with most frames.

Thankfully the reward isn't that huge for winning. But it will suck to always lose because I don't want to use TS Titania. For the PvPvE mode I would want them to do standardized setups you can choose. The fun should be in the dynamic PvP debuffs and buffs, not in how fast you can fly with Titania in my opinion.

I was under the impression that assimilate doesn't get the fixed duration but otherwise gains all other benefits from the changes to her 4 as well as a higher initial cost since you can't get nuked out of it anymore.

So you're telling me that the thanks that i get for barely getting any hotfixes and for getting the most mediocre content since the release of the whispers in the wall (which was nearly a year ago) is yet another bounty system with 2D glyph rewards and music rewards which i can just add to my music playlist? people can sugar coat it all they want, to be frank i dont care. i just wont play the game and i plan on not doing so until they stop this bounty release slop that theyve been milking since plains of eidelon. cant wait to see soulframe totally be worth it after ignoring their main game for so long!

I hope DE expands the number of weapons we're going to get from this update, surely the two weapons we did see other than the AX-52 aren't all there is, belt fed machine guns, bolt action rifles, another SMG style weapon (Maybe something that looks similar to an MP5 or Scorpion Evo), there's so much that could have been added, but I guess most of the weapons would have been from the Coda, which we're no longer getting at launch. With the delay, I can understand DE's intentions to make sure it releases in the best condition possible, but at that point I'd rather have the whole update be delayed for a month or so, better to release everything that was meant to be a part of this update instead of release the first third of the update, then push the other two thirds back for the sake of ensuring it's finished.

I'm not sure if your math is mathing. I get that as a content creator focused on builds, you are disappointed in the lack of guns, but the guns were meant to be there with the coda. Its unfortunate they had to push it back, but delaying all the rest even tho it's ready just so people think the update has more guns (if they came out together in 2025) and is therefore good doesn't actually change the amount of content, just its time of arrival. You also left out several things in your comparison, like the fact that the bounties will have one of the hex coming with you or that the new tileset has 4 different seasons. Not to mention the new faction (scaldra?) and sub-faction (technocyde infested?)... not sure about the names. Again, I get why you are disappointed, but it's not that there isn't any content. It's that the content seems to be more fleshed out than it ever was. More work put into the bounties, more work put into the syndicate. Lore delivered in a new way (relationships). Things like that. Warframe was never afraid to change things up from time to time, so it's unavoidable that they will sometimes focus on something that's not your thing, but this willingness to change it up also brought many things you like. And as someone who's clearly not in the know about how many people worked at what for how long, it's pointless to even try to compare development times and amount of content. It's baseless speculation at best. I completely agree with syndicates, however, in that there are too many of them now. If I could change anything, I'd put universal medallions (or a material to craft them) into every mission reward in the entire game. The lower your mastery and play time, the more you get, so it can act as a bit of a catch-up mechanic as well. Say MR30 and above is the baseline, and MR1 with less than 10 hours gets 10x. And/or they could lower the requirements for older syndicates. Anyway, I see this as 1999 pt.1, basically. Can you see where I'm coming from?

No. I was mad that the 1999 they focused on was asset flips and cosmetics instead of interesting and unique weapons with this style. As of now there is literally no weapon in 1999 we have not already seen or used.

I believe the reason they didn’t touch the assimilate augment for nyx is because of many old nyx players wanting to keep the ability as is. I saw some people complaining about how they want to keep her old version of the ability so I believe they left that there for them

It not being an open world is great, DE are not good at open worlds, they always end up being empty spaces only for doing bounties, or fishing and mining. Even Duviri is like this, empty, which is not a good sign being so recent. Their open worlds have so much more wasted potential. They excel at procedurally generated tilesets, and from what we've seen it looks great. I hope they have this in mind when doing Soulframe too.

Also Assimilate has no drain on damage anymore, but flat 6 energy drain, It will be quite true inmmortality now, since you only need to fix her energy economy while in it, I like the changes to it.

I'm most excited for the endless capture and had been waiting for more info on this mode during the devstream so was a little disappointed. As far as I know the capture target will mutate and become stronger after every successful capture :) As for best quest, can't agree with you there, I can't decide between Second Dream, War Within and The Sacrifice but those are my favourites :) I can wait for the infested weapons, I am still farming some of the Sister Ephemeras :) I don't think you can compare the development time of Plains of Eidolon with 1999 because nobody knows how long they were working an Plains of Eidolon, also the team is bigger now than it was then but being bigger adds complexity and does not always mean quicker.

I’ve also said this a million times, and with the pvpve mode it’s even more true, for pvp content we should have live equipment usage stats that buff and debuff equipment that becomes too meta, they already have the tech for this with arbis/ invigorations like thermal sunder wont be that crazy if Titania and gauss are used so much their str and range are cut in half and idk inaros is used so little he has +300% str and range, it should also be an endless mission type, similar to how rematching works in other games like as long as both teams agree to rematch it keeps going to level cap, that way you and friends from a rival clan could go head to head with premades or something, and the fact that premades are allowed (which they are already) is exactly why moug is right and the winners and loser should get different rewards

Cyte-09 has a timer before you can use the invis again. Don't know if it starts at the end of the skill or the beginning where extending the skill enough would allow for endless uses (like Gyre's 3)

I wish we got at least 10 new weapons based on 1990s (or early 2000s since it's an alternate timeline). P90 would've been an instant classic. Combat Knife would be a thematic since it's heavily American military / Call of Duty styled. Scar, Light machine guns, Uzi, Barret 50cal. So many cool choices I would've loved to see. Hope they give us more in the future though.

lots of words and not used to typing this much making this throughout the vid just so I no forgor things, I think tile sets are just better and more preferable than open worlds since we don't do much in open worlds other than collect mining/fishing/hunting and those arent on anyones list of fun things and atleast a tile set will- 1 give more variety of tile sets and- 2 be more seen and utilized depending on how the capture mission is done maybe new fastest lvl cap amd fast fissures? love the idea of the new pvp mode and personally i wouldn't really change much cuz i just would prefer it this way, my only concern is if there will be a *meta* for it for what the team is like each frame that will trivialize the gamemode (i know this'll happen i just hope there isnt a MUST have team) cyte be seeming busted and especially with helminth (gonna see dual tox with em) not a big fan of the nyx rework but maybe she might suprise me (mostly cuz the augment, like dont gimme it being invulnerability so it must be nerfed... revenant?) like trinity changes tho not many weapons is big sad and pain, hopefully the new ones actually have gud functions/feel don't full agree on the new lich weapons but i do understand your points, i just want them to not be the buggiest thing on launch i'll like the dating sim but it def in the back for me and lil too much effort in it than other things just like you i am HOPING that it is a longer quest and is great. i LOVED new war, more importantly- pls DE gimme answers or more questions don't fully agree on the making a whole game in that time point but i do understand why you'd say it I don't like the point of them having the resources to make this update big cuz they can make another game at the same time, reason being it is harder on their resources because they have to focus on another game thus removing time and energy some devs could've spent on warframe that would've made it much bigger, and tbh I think soulframe needs alot more work cuz the gameplay looks sadly looks like garbage and i don't want it to flop also ADORE the music but why more stuff on music rather than content? Cyte09 looks like he will probably be one of my new top played frames. He looks like hes going to be kind of like a gun voruna if you squint hard enough. As for the new mission type, im glad that it looks like it will be best used as an arcane farm, ive never joined a public lobby, ive played the game with my brother and a few friends over the past 10 years, our Dojo is basically made by 3 people. The times I have traded from warframe market i can count on one hand. If Warframe put in a gamemode that required working with or against random people for progression, i would simply not progress. With the delay to the infested lads, im not too worried about that, its definitely a fine enough choice rather than repeating the railjack update. And the dating sim and stuff, i think its a neat way to introduce lore stuff for those that want it, and maybe it will entice some people who havent engaged with it before. When it comes to content, i feel like theres a lot of misconceptions you have about DE and game dev. I started going over all of them but it was turning into something more like an article than a comment. Suffice to say, open worlds are actually much easier, and a lot of the content you praise the plains for came out after its launch. Also you complain about content islands but also complain about how quick to beat stuff is, like it wouldnt be even quicker if that wasnt the case. I think really the only downside to factions is that since im done with Cetus, i dont touch ostron rep at all anymore, right now i step into the zariman, throw half a dozen max rank tokens at yonta, grab a couple arcanes and leave, then go to Loid and do the same. Thats the end of my rep grind right now tbh. Glyphs dont take dev time. Music doesnt take dev time. Tilesets take dev time, an entire new faction worth of enemies takes dev time. In a year while still making other content and another game, this is definitely a good update. Considering whispers in the wall had a full 2 years and it has basically the same as this, whereas Cetus had probably 3 or 4 years, and doesnt have twice the content, this does seem pretty comprable. The gap between major updates has been getting smaller.

Not going to elaborate in a huge paragraph, but I completely disagree, this update is already so packed, and DE being honest about the fact that they won't be able to release a fully finished product in time and delaying it instead is a huge win. If you play other game you know how rare gaming companies that care about the quality of their products have become, most of them just don't give a shit and release unfinished updates (not even goind to mention that is is all free which is just mindblowing).

Yep super good quality in warframe you can almost play the old content without bugs that break you’re game or makes the content unplayable

@@yvanmezencev4669 warframe is ridiculously buggy like very very buggy they usually hotfix quickly but, if you play enough of the content it becomes pretty noticeable
