So... I had an issue with the video quality. Sorry 🥲 I promise the next one will be better. As you can see, I just started this week so I would really appreciate the support for the channel :)

Dude don't apologize. Your content is absolutely amazing especially regarding you just started out. Keep going please. And if I'm allowed to say that: Please don't become one of those people who just become judgemental of stuff they don't like? It's really refreshing to see somebody go into detail so much about how stuff is actually made. There aren't many channels that do that at all and there sure as hell are even less that do it well.

It goes back to the days of plays, its easier for people to read over acted and over voiced performances. In modern times, they reflect more what it feels like in your head than actual reality. You have every perfect word and response.
@lemonmouth78958 ай бұрын
I know this isn’t what you’re implying, but performances weren’t overacted because of people not understanding them otherwise. It was so everyone could see and hear since microphones and speakers weren’t a thing even though they were smart enough to develop theaters that amplified sound. I find it kind of interesting that you can see this overacting in older films where they only had a single microphone. Everyone talks at a near shout just so they can be heard by the single microphone dangling above the set. Had to get that brain worm out of my head.
@TheTolister8 ай бұрын
@@lemonmouth7895 Though I get this point about the microphone, what comment above stated can also be true. In the old times, acting jobs dominated in the theatre and radio, so they were heavily depending on what to say to the audiences and how to say it in the most clear way, so the audience could get it. Also, it was because of how young the industry was. They just didn't use the cinema aspect to those limits of today, that cinema is above all visual medium. It's the same with videogames. Just look at some old game from the 90s and compare it with games from today like The Last of Us.

The saddest breakup is that of a friendship. And Scarlett Johansson is involved in a movie that I consider one of the saddest and lonely films to watch. And is still endearing, funny, weird, and charming movies to have come out. It has Thora Birch as the other best friend, and Steve Buscemi in a great role. That movie is Ghost World, and is worthy of a great video essay about it.

What astonishes me most is how amazing the cinematography and framing is, even though the set design is extremely bland and limited. An obvious choice by the filmmakers but it's amazing how much emotion they can convey even in a mundane environment.

Thanks for breaking down every frame so masterfully and explaining the significance of minute details. it gives another dimension, which is not obvious at all. One question though. I understand the urge for recognition, alas, your appearance in the middle of a scene is not right. better to start as you always do, then cut to introduction by you and that's it. Be that as it may, it's a real pleasure and I'm an avid subscriber.

great video man. you have a good eye for cinematography techniques but i would like to see you explain how the shots and composition ties in with the narrative more often. Do you ever analyse stage plays or films of stage plays? I write and direct plays and so I think about the staging of my productions the way you critique film.
@SuperMustache5558 ай бұрын
I buy your argument, and it's an incredible video, but you need a third party to serve someone a lawsuit, so while that scene may be an example of the use of an awkward intermediary, it's legally necessary. Either way, amazing analysis! I particularly loved the birds-eye-view 3D model of the set. Genius!

This movie was literally the story of my parents/family only that I was 6 and heared all of it and my father was physically and psychologically abusive towards me and my mother and a lot poorer (actually my father was insolvent and lend money from the Mafia to pay his bills just to run from them). Well, maybe just the emotions I felt during this movie did remind me of the divorce of my parents 🙃🔫

Very impactful acting and directing in this film, but it felt too pessimistic, introducing a couple with great chemistry that seem like a solid match just to whither their relationship down. They're just at the point in their lives where the drama needs to take over and any struggles or midlife crisis is automatically rooted in the relationship. I'm not sure if it's supposed to have a message but I'm reluctant to recommend it lol.
