STUBBY: AN AMERICAN HERO you can watch at M4Ufree And yes he was a real dog and to this day the mascot is a bull terrier and he was not buried nor was he cremated you can see him stuffed with his jacket with all his 3 stripes and all his medals he even has a purple heart he is in the Smithsonian Institution, Washington D.C. if you feel the need to see him in person at least the picture shows him in his jacket but it also says Stubby's "Uniform" with rank and medals attached on display in the Hartford State Armory so can't understand if they separated his jacket from him or not
