As a puppy, Bella finds her way into the arms of Lucas, a young man who gives her a good home. When Bella becomes separated from Lucas, she soon finds herself on an epic 400-mile journey to reunite with her beloved owner. According to the author, she’s a mix breed and one of them is a pitbull. I can’t remember what other breeds she is. Although, Bella never really acted like a pitbull in the movie, which was so unfair to Lucas and his mom, his mom really needed her.

Not sure what you mean by "act like a pitbull"... No breed invariably acts a specific way. I would agree though that Bella looks like a lab mix of some sort, potentially with some Pitbull but probably not a lot

@@hannahbowman259 Uh, yes, it does. For example, sighthound will probably chase anything that moves, terriers would dig and hunt smaller critters, and pitbulls don´t usually go along well with other dogs (tough there are of course exceptions). So, yes, different breeds may act differently.

From what I remember from the movie she is a cross between a pit bull and I think a Doberman. My daughter didn’t believe me either (it was originally her dog at her house) ... once some workmen had to be in for quite a while and Millie barked non-stop for 45 mins or so but when I put on the Bella film she was immediately quiet and happy! Some kind of reassuring familiarity supposedly as well as the good music which she knows... not much cop when the postman comes though 🙄

There is no way that that is legal the max penalty for having a dog out on the open is a fine if it attacks some one if any of those officers arrested that man the police force would have no other choice but to fire them for making an unauthorized arrest and that dog pound guy would also be arrested for false confiscation of a dog since it is not a pit bull and he captured it claiming it was.

Trever Belmont it Denver, Colorado, where the movie/book takes place, it is illegal to own a pit bull breed of dog. There is a 2-strike policy associated with them. First time they are caught in public by animal control, they are chipped and returned. Second time, the dog can legally be taken and euthanized. Trust me, it’s stupid, but a quick online search can tell you all you need to know about breed specific laws. And about the cop, since the impounding of Bella was technically government issued, they were actually legally obligated to arrest Lucas if he didn’t let Chuck take Bella.

pit bulls are actually naturally aggressive. they're prone to both dog and animal aggression, now this doesn't mean that every single apbt is going to have this trait; however because it is a typical trait for the pit bull a lot of them will display DA and AA compared to a breed that was not bred for aggression. this doesn't make the pit bull a bad or evil breed in itself, as with proper management, discipline and containment with a responsible and knowledgeable owner a responsible owner will be able to manage the aggression. the fact is though that the majority of pit bull owners are not knowledgeable, educated or capable enough of handling an aggression prone breed that can be highly driven; and this is where the problem lies. inexperienced dog owners go out and get a pit bull expecting it to act like a lap dog, however pit bulls need a strong, firm handler who knows what they're doing. not an owner who is going to treat it like a human baby or spoil it and not train it.

Reminds me of what happened with my last dog which was a female Australian Shepard. Long story short, some "holier than though", secretly druggies were allowed to rent my childhood home for two years while I and the rest of the family were living overseas. When we came back to the house, we found mushrooms and animal fecal matter all over the ******* place and had to rent out a some other house for the better part of a year. It was sometime early on the renters decided to break in for the drugs they stashed in our AC ducts, but unfortunately we had left 4 dogs all of whom where mixed breeds except mine(previous owner had a very amusing thought regarding dog breedings lol) Anyway, two of them got out(german shepard and dobie mix and wouldn't be found until much later, like 2 days if memory serves), a third had a bad concussion but was fine after awhile, and the 4th, well. ******* trigger happy cop killed my Spotsa on our property because he felt "threatened" by a full grown Aussie that barely came up to me midthigh(6ft). Super friendly, loved to play fight (kinda encouraged it, actually lol but kept it under controlled), loved to run around, too. She was also super intelligent like her mother and knew when she was in trouble. She was the kind of dog that didn't need to be hit or yelled at, so you can imagine how hurt I was(was killed in '03-'04). I don't know the full consequences of that cops' punishment but I was told he was relocated elsewhere. I haven't kept dogs since then, but I do know that if someone like Chuck tried to take my dog from me without a good reason, I wouldn't care if there was 100,000 cops behind him. If you are going to be in a job like his, know your breed or expect trouble you cannot handle.

The law itself is so wrong! Dogs are just the product of their environment, like children. I knew a friend who had a pit bull and I played with her dog often. That dog was the sweetest thing and would never hurt anyone. If you train a pit bull well at an early age it can be an amazing dog!

For everyone saying she isn’t a Pitt, in the book that this movies is based on it clearly just states that’s she is a mix, possible jack russel mix. Many people expressed concerns that she wasn’t not a Pitt in the book but the reason they are allowed to take her is because there’s a law that says if 3 ACOs (animal control officers) say she’s a Pitt then by law she is now labeled a Pitt. It’s really stupid and ridiculous but that’s how they get away with it when she clearly is a mix. The books makes the situation really clear
