The Halo Glow makes me break out Emily, every time I've used it, in the same way as you, not cystic break outs, just irritating little ones. It's a shame because it's really pretty. If I just put the smallest amount with my foundation it doesn't make me break out....

Many of the tinted lip balms on the market don't show up on pigmented lips just like many blushes don't show on medium+ skintones until more pigmented ones like the rare beauty, elf, nyx came to the market. It's a continuous battle to get products that work well on darker skin tones so it's nice to see more things available for everyone.

Yes!! lol regarding about not letting your kids play with the covergirl eyeshadow, I bought my 7 year old granddaughter ELF makeup for Christmas for her to play with (not wear out of the house). She expresses a lot of enthusiasm regarding makeup art she calls it. I wanted her to use GOOD products that I can trust

Those covergirl quads are so good! My favorite is the golden toffee one-perfect browns with a highlight, midtone, and a deep shade to work with. Dreamy Pink is a dupe for the CT pillow talk quad, and I love that one too!

Hey Emily, I hope you had a Merry Christmas and a very happy birthday!! I love your short hair. I cut my hair off 3-4 months ago and the tool that has helped me style with the best volume I have ever achieved with any hairstyle is the updated Revlon Onestyler. It’s so easy and the volume lasts for a few days. I highly recommend. The only thing is it gets really hot so I have to make sure to use the medium heat but other than that amazing!! I Am Fierce Maybelline Color Tattoo stick!! I use it as a liner, and it is such a pretty color. Described as a shimmery olive, I find that it is a subtle cool toned green, but not olive. Very pretty on my brown eyes, but I recommend as a color for anyone to try.

Re Cover Girl, it seems like everything existing before that was redone since Coty bought them is a fail, but all the things I've tried that they made "from scratch" were great! Like the cleanser and the clean fresh sticks.

You know what’s funny? I have heard consistently with Elf’s complexion and skincare products that they cause breakouts and have experienced this myself. I think there is a consistent ingredient they are using causing this and hope they can do a reevaluation so folks can use their products without a negative result. Because of that I don’t buy their base and complexion products anymore 😞

Hi Emily, I use the Essence Stay & Play Gel eyeliner in Silky Nude as an affordable alternative to the Makeup Forever eyeliner you mentioned. It works great and not stark white.

Okay, have you done retinol products before? Often using retinol products takes time to adjust and also, 3-6 months of continued use to see results!

I like the Sweet Plum trio by Covergirl, and have had no problem with lack of pigment. I do use Miliani eye primer with it, and use and elf brush. Shows up very much on my eyes, but then again I have darkish lids, so a lot of colors show up. The main thing is that all of the Covergirl Eye Enhancers now are talc free, including Shimmering Sands. So I can wear powder eyeshadow again.

Referring to the Covergirl Plum trio, I hate to break it to you but Shimmering Sands was reformulated and repackaged as well and it under-performs the same as you describe the Plum one. Fortunately they removed the parabens but they crapped the bed on switching it with a safer option that performs. I was so excited to buy it again in the clean formula but in-term they did us dirty!

Iove full color lipstick, but at work I like something more natural and especially in the winter something more moisturizing. Have you tried the hurraw tinted lip balm trio in hazelnut, raspberry and cherry? I used to like the regular hurraw balm when it was sold locally around here

What you're describing that Elf oil did to you is EXACTLY what the Whoa Glow sunscreen did to me. It was almost like a rash type pimple. I stopped using it immediately and they went directly away and have never come back. I KNOW without a shadow of a doubt that's what it was. I just can't get along with anything Elf makes for complexion or skincare other than the hydrating camo concealer. And it makes me really sad, their products are SO affordable!

The elf oil did the same thing to me. I have tried it a few times over the last few months and got little whiteheads every time. My skin is very dry. So it is not something I will continue to use.

Emily I see you like perfume, I just found a fabulous scent. It's called Lataffa Yara Rosa in the Pink bottle. It's so good. I got it at the beginning of December & I've had about 20 complements two really nice ladies & a gentleman cjaded me down to ask what I was wearing. It's a great scent. I bought the whole line for myself 😅
