You should check out the track jellyfish kiss by taskforce it's one of Chester P's earliest songs, Chester P has a tone of work out already 5 albums and 3 eps under the name taskforce, which is him and his brother Farmer G and he has 3 albums and an ep as solo projects

Thanks for coming through with the react , i knew you would have the level of appreciation this deserves and and the recognition of the profound bars to leave ya mind blown. It aint gonna fill dance floors , but this kind of musical inflection has a very special place that Chester holds the crown in. Can you check out Double dragon by scorzayzee ft chester. Both those boys bring the flames . Great reaction btw with great insite, i found it moving and like you said god bless Chester P and hope hes found some peace for his weary mind and is doing well. I did see a comment yesterday that he has a new album coming out but im not gonna believe that till i see it . I hope so. Yo, great review. Just the fact that you know about Chester P (and Taskforce) marks you out as someone who’s able to discern just good from next level stuff like this. Chester is my all time favorite poet, followed by Jay Z. I often compare Chester P to Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Joseph Conrad, and Charles Dickinson. The way he reflects on knowledge of self, growth, society, and social issues. The worlds he builds? Incredible. He’s a legend. Make sure you check out him and his brother’s ‘Music From the Corner’ albums, pure gems. There’s five of them and they’re all like this, but better. You hardly have to skip songs. And yes, Chester is a poet, and he’s wayyyyy above Eminem. Glad to see another American that knows about him. I’ve put quite a few of my american friends on to him and Taskforce. Make sure you check out “Chester P-Fire in the streets” and “Chester P- sbtv freestyle”, “Taskforce - run from the sun” “taskforce - life without instructions”. Great work, keep spreading the word.

Not sure if I have suggested this already to you but he did a next level freestyle on this - search "chester p genesis elijah fubar radio" on YT. He starts at about 5.28. Do you know much underground US hip-hop? I know a few - Immortal Technique, Ill Bill, Aesop Rock and that's about it. I'd love to hear the US equivalent of the sort of UK hip-hop you like. Any suggestions? Also, Chester still does sporadically release music but since this there has only been jokey Christmas message that I am aware of. I hope that changes. The Love the World EP was from around this time, I think. I have pretty much the same reaction to him as you do - dumbfounded. It is impossible to get everything in the first hearing. His raps always include refs to literature, art, mythology, and psychedelics. He did a whole rap about the number 9 and its significance, which was deep. I think it was an Itch FM freestyle but I could be wrong.

absoutely man I get blown away by this dude every time I listen to him. As far as US underground that matches Chester P I'd say very few tbh. Black Thought flex freestyle, royce da 5 9 has a freestyle on LA leakers which is nuts. I'd start there. They aren't exactly underground but they can compete with this level of lyricism in my opinion. Added the suggestion to the list fam

It was your channel that sent my down the rabbit hole, which I am thoroughly enjoying, BTW. Now I'm an old fart, I am looking for different things in it. My priorities have changed a lot. I know you dig Ocean wisdom and I can't remember if I have recommend a couple of his freestyles but they "Spitz Wisdom Freestyle" (he was like 17/18) and "HF TV Freestyle". HF is High Focus Records. Over the years, they have hosted a lot of the UK HH goats. Also, his debut single Walking, then the awesome Voices in My Head, plus Drilly Rucksack. Sue if me if I repeated myself - lol. Peace, my brother and thanks for bringing a light to UK HH. There is so much gold there and 99% of them never got rich and a lot like it that way. Real in the realest sense. Task Force ( Chess's old group) turned down an record deal with EMI to stay independent and true to themselves, and a lot of others have done similar shit. In it for the art, not the cash, though cash is always much appreciated, I'm sure. It breaks my heart that Chester P is broke, after all he has done. There are 2 Spitz Wisdom freestyles on YT, both good but my fave is just plain "Spitz Wisdom Freestyle", the other is "Spitz Wisdom 3style Freestyle". He is just a kid in both, and are a taste of what is to come. Almost forgot, he did a great track called "Incidents" with Chester P. He is so respectful on it and just lets Ches do his thing, without trying to out-rap him.
