Gabi, that was a very touching sentiment you showed on having lived through difficulty periods the last few years, sharing your grandfather's birthday celebration, enjoying the ride in VN (so far) as it's your dream that you think you will look back fondly in the future. I cannot speak to your personal situation but I can tell you this. I grew up in the States, had no idea about riding scooters in VN before I moved to VN, but after having spent 10 years working and living in VN, and rode scooter all those 10 years, I miss those days so much the last 8 years of being back in the States. I miss having my girlfriend snuggle close behind me and talking and laughing in my ear, or even having friends that we'd talk as on our ride, of seeing fellow scooter riders with their family, of seeing children looking up to ask their parents about what they just saw, of being part of a community instead of being isolated in a car, of being able to see and smell something delicious and can stop on a sidewalk to try it, and most of all, the feeling of "freedom". It's just so different/unique, and I didn't even get to do the fun Dalat ride, or the peaceful Phong Nha ride, or the spectacular Ha Giang Loop ride. I hope you have a safe and enjoyable ride in VN and as I know we had talked about this before but it's worth repeating, stay the hell away from the trucks and buses on the road. Deadly accidents happen around those things. Take care.

Wow... scenery along your ride is so beautiful. When I was young, I used to pop on my bike or car and drive ... drive ... to clear my mind every time that I reached the stress limit. My longest drive was to South East Asia and last for over 17 years. Now, I retired and recalled memories. BTW, if my husband is still alive, he would love to rent that room and do fishing every summer.

Like you I was totally freaked out by the traffic, especially within traffic circles but it just flowed like water. At first I noticed people honking their horns, “not as a get out of my way” honk but more as a “hey I’m here so please take care”. I hope that your trip takes you up to DaNang. Enjoy…

I so agree with u, we should all enjoy our life and appreciate every little things, specially our dreams and do things that makes us happy. I got 5 jobs, nursing homes for the elders, aged between 70-105 years. Beautiful ppl, but theres a lot of: i wish i did, if i lived again i would, i regreat i dindt... In my job i see death almost every week. We got one life, make the best out of everyday 🙏☺️ Love your videoes, keep up the good work 👍

Take care on the roads in Vietnam, they are totally different compared to how they drive cars and use motorbikes in Thailand. Lots more fatalities on roads in Vietnam especially Saigon and the surrounding areas.

When we were in Vietnam a few years back we saw 3 serious accidents in 10 days, one of them fatal. If you look up statistics, they speak for themselves. Staying alert and take good care is key.

It's not really that big of a deal as there's always a place nearby that will fix it for you. Or someone will come along and help you. Watch Paddy Doyle's videos where had 3 flats in like 2 days...but watch his videos because they are AMAZING!!! Especially his Ha Giang Loop ride...so crazy and showcases the beauty of Vietnam that is beyond words.
