I agree 100% with your review. All I would add is that these D'Addario brothers have the gift of writing memorable pop tunes, which is not easy. This is their best record.

It's funny they're always pinned as derivative when Brian's composition is wildly unique compared to every top 40 hit for the last 30 years. But somehow the twigs are derivative

Less derivative, and more evocative. The songs are undoubtedly reminiscent of music from that era, but the D’Addarios’ melodic tricks and unexpected chord changes make their songs distinctly different from those created by the artists that served as their inspiration. Even the song “In the Eyes of the Girl”, an obvious Beach Boys homage, boasts a completely original melodic twist in the bridge. It’s both a surprise and delight for the ears

Best 30 minute album , if like your albums succinct and to the point, the secret machines awake in the brain chamber. Check it out. This album is great though
