A drive in a Mini E, an experimental electric vehicle from BMW and the forerunner to the BMW i3

Watched Fully Charged and saw your comment so looked at this and wondered why BMW didn't put the electric Mini into production sooner. Looks awesome, thanks for posting.

This one was awesome but not production ready - no rear seats and almost no boot space due to batteries. There was no way to fit all the batteries in while retaining space - for that they needed a ground-up design like the i3. Even with those limitations though everyone on the test programme wanted to buy theirs. Still, it'd be a hard sell for those comparing it with other Minis though. Looking forward to seeing the 'new' Mini E.

I drive the Leaf ... and the Mini E is awesome ... I wish BMW wud sell this instead of i3 ... EVs are the future. Imagine when the next gen doubles in range, and is cheaper by 20%
