My GoPro Camera and my song "Agave Road" to compliment a drive through Saratoga and up to the Mountain Winery (4X normal speed). Enjoy!

A great place to see the Beach Boys, too, for sure! This Sunday (8/16) in fact. :)

I was here for the first time in october for the m83 concert. It is honestly one of the most beautiful places i have been. I hope to visit again one day from what i hear not many canadians have been here.

It's a really nice and historic spot with a great view. I worked there for 9 years (making drinks) and the managers suck. 😄

@moanakeikii 9 years? Honestly it sucks when poor management ruins a place like this. It is such a breath taking place.

My cars know this exact route by heart (or so it seems). Beautiful drive every time. Love working at the Mountain Winery- amazing venue.

Last time I was there for a Nathalie Cole concert in 1988. Excellent show! My girlfriend at the time won tickets on a radio station. It still went by Paul Masson Mountain Winery then.

Wow, that was a while back! "I Live for Your Love" and "Jump Start my Heart" were her big ones then. It's a cool spot though, even though the memories of Paul Masson and any wine-making are llllllllong gone. I believe 1949 was the last time wine was made there, even though they replanted some Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes in 2003 though to bring back it's "winery-ness" (which they do harvest and press off-site). :)

@@moanakeikii Yes those were the songs on the 1987 album Everlasting that she was on tour for. That album was a big hit for her and put her name out there for another generation. As far as the grapes grown there, I went to Saratoga HS and there is a guy I went to school with who runs a winery where they plant their vines on others properties and then press them at their winery. I wonder if it is his company.

@@kennethsouthard6042 The House Family Vineyard, nearby, is also a partial property-owner of The Mountain Winery. The Patterson's (Jeffery?) and David House make the wine (at least they did a few years ago). There's a lot of construction going on up there , as of late.

@@moanakeikii The guy I know is Brian Caselden from Woodside Vineyards. After graduation he used to work in the wine dept. of the liquor store on Saratoga Sunnyvale in the Argonaut shopping center. I guess all winemakers have to start somewhere.

On the drive back down is their enough space for 2 cars ? Seems a bit small when u are almost to the top . First time going next month . Appreciate the video .

My days there are over, but the road was newly paved around 2019. It's still narrow and as long as you're slow and careful, you should be fine. Mt. Hamilton Rd. is MUCH scarier.

It's not to difficult for 2 cars to navigate but it is very narrow.

The last bit of road once you turn off the main road is quite sketchy looking.

Indeed! The main access road is NOT for the weary. Eyes on the road and two hands on that wheel! ;)

I'll be driving up to the winery to watch an ABBA tribute band and the last time I was up there was decades ago. One of our aunts or uncles had a company picnic in Saratoga Springs "resort/camping area". Im wondering how long the concert is going to be so I can decide beforehand on what I should eat afterward when its done with.

Nice! Tonight's "ABBA" show will start at 7:30 and probably go until about 10. Traffic can be a bit of a chore leaving so keep that in mind. I'll be tending bar at the Chateau Deck if you'd like to say hi. have fun! :)

PS ... There are a few food options at tonight's concert ranging from "casual" to "a bit more formal" but I'll leave that to you. :)

That was my first time there and I had a lot of fun, even though I didn't jump about. At least there were some ladies who dressed up in sequined dresses similar to 1920's flappers but not as risque. Sorry, I didn't check to see if you responded back, so I'm only looking at the chateau deck right now. Not sure where the deck was (maybe near the merchandise tent), but I was sitting in the nosebleed seats (Section GA/P4) which is fine as it adds to the "illusuion" of the actual band playing. Why I thought the real band would be playing at a venue where I can see them for $40, im not sure, but when I heard they got back together, I thought that meant touring, instead of the actual truth which is that they reunited to make 2 new songs. Anyways, I shouldn't have rushed to get to my car and hung around to look at the view, and perhaps to meet the band (I saw them in a golf cart driving past on the way to the merch tent. Oh well theres always next year.
