It's hard to overstate how enjoyable your style of delivery is. Really helps communicate how silly-yet-serious the NBA is.

Thank you for this ! Sign and trade was not making sense to me but this made it all make sense . I knew it had to do with the money but didn't know bird rights were how.

I like the "hunky dory" cheer. Cool perspective/clarification for sign and trade. Never knew (thought about) how restricted free agents are always/only players coming off of their rookie contract, I guess it makes sense though now that you point it out. Player/team option contracts seem to make sense for the reasons for being structured in their respective ways. Yes, time for FVV and Toronto to (mutually) "call it quits". Your explainers are great. Thank you. Mmmm summer corn dog season.

I was trying to be really emphatic with my explanation since it's so confusing. Kind of take people through the emotions a team/gm might have when it comes to signing contracts. Makes it easier to remember. The new CBA apparently hard caps any team that does a sign and trade. that's the way it should be. They should have plugged that hole a long time ago. Enjoy those sweet corndogs. Dang those puppies are delicous.

So basically the NBA doesn’t do anything like soccer/football you can’t buy any player you want. You Just have to wait. Kinda lame tbh I would rather pay to have Curry and Lebron on my team

Ok now I understand the Kris Dunn deal to the Clippers from Utah it's a sign and trade Utah pretty much Utah blessed Kris Dunn with more money and years to go play for a winner than he would have got if he took the Vet minimum to play for Phoenix on a 1 year deal for only $3.3 million he'll now get a 2 to 3 year deal worth up to $7.7+ million a year😉

Got a question. This summer Dallas signed Naji Marshall as a free agent from NOP. They signed him even tho they were over the cap space. How?????
@whatslaps3 ай бұрын
Might have used the mid level exception or a trade exception they had. Probably the mle or bi-annual exception
@vedantkandalgaonkar5287 Жыл бұрын
So could the Mavs have matched Brunson's contract?
@whatslaps Жыл бұрын
This is a great question. Since Brunson was a second rounder the mavs were able to write a contract that wasn't rookie scale. They signed him to a four year deal straight up so he was free to walk.
