I'm not big on TV, but this is a wonderful show. What they accomplished by bringing this family together was absolutely phenomenal. I cried along with them... I couldn't help it. The miracle here and the powerful part of it all, was the gift of love and the power of forgiveness. It took away the fathers guilt, allowing him to embrace this magnificent moment with his son, along with a new generation. Incredible!

pintura14 I didn't meet my dad earlier bc by the time that I was interested, I had already gone through so much on my own that I figured I just didn't need him. I was angry but the truth is, I DO need him. He is by no means perfect nor am I but we are now imperfect and forgiven together.

After 43 years i found my birth mother You don't think about why did she leave me why this and that You think about what she looks like how does she sound Where she was.. After all that you meet other family and ..For me the blanks filled in afterwards ..she was young pressure from her mom and dad because she wasn't working and a couple next door couldn't have kids ..That couple Loved me, Rised me, instilled values. Sadly they never wanted me to leave them so they never told me much about my real mom The one that rised me died @81 never telling me that they moved away without letting my birth mother know where (fear she would take me back) I now see my Birth mother 400kms away 1 or 2 times a month ..I now know who and where i am and my history

I don't know his name, where he lives or if he is even alive. My Mom passed in 06 and I never even asked her his name. I am a long haul truck driver, I travel all over the US and I know what it is like to always be looking and wondering could that be him.

My Niece struggles with this after 29yrs, married and now expecting her first child...his dad was in the Service in Sacramento, transferred to PA and they moved away never knowing he has this beautiful daughter. I had never heard of this show, we don't have it in Australia unfortunately, but it was wonderfully presented, and had me in a flood of tears. I stumbled across this by accident an hour ago, as I sit at the breakfast table here in Tasmania, and fiddling around on the net. I am so glad I did. I wish this newly found and formed family a lifetime of happiness. I am so thrilled for you Art, and you are a lot like your Dad, and that is clear with the beautiful way he embraced this whole thing, as well as you. I pray God blesses you all greatly and for always. Much respect and love, Janne

He could have done so easily. He is not the man he is because of his biological father and he yet he can learn more about him self. I don't write that to detract from the moment or future meetups, but it takes more than blood to be a father to a child. I could write many words that relate to myself, but this is a comment section and so it's not wanted nor needed, I will only say I hope they both find common ground and a lasting relationship.

Art Siegert I hope this isn't a rude question, but did your mother ever explain why your father didn't know you existed until you were 21? It just seems like a sad secret to keep for so many years. No doubt your mother had her reasons. My mother unfortunately did the same thing. Never saw my bio father. Out of the blue , my Mother had the audacity to send me an old black and white photo of him. Even at 45 years old, it was still a kick in the gut. "Why"? I still ask myself.
@ArtSiegert
@ArtSiegert 10 жыл бұрын
Not a rude question at all. Theres a bit or "he said, she said" in the story but I just dont really care about that anymore. Yes my mom said he was aware and he says he wasnt but at this stage it really doesnt matter. My mom was always open with info related to him but there was a time where I WAS hurt and just didnt care to know him or his side.

To everyone wondering why he would even want to know his dad and why he wouldn't feel abandoned, obviously the son has more compassion rather than anger. All worries aside he just wants to meet his father. Not only that but having a granddad would be amazing for his child's health to have a wide spand of people that care for them. This is absolutely touching and beautiful.

Words alone can not express the emotions that you brought out with this video. I am a sensitive person to begin with, but seeing this, knowing how I've lived for 61 years and having lived as orphan for the first 5 of those 61 yeas struck at the core of my emotions. I was born in a small town in Italy, given up for adoption at birth but did not have parents for 5 years 2 months. Then on June 29th two of the most beautiful people in the world,[To me anyway] gave of themselves to give a little boy a chance at life. I thank God every chance I get for these two. They showed me love and caring, tempered discipline with tenderness, and encouragement with understanding. I came to them with several handicaps, but they gave me the strength I needed to survive. Without their Love and and open willingness to make a home for me I don't know what would have become of me. Very Sadly I only had them with me for 25 years. My Dad, who was my very best friend and whom I loved more than life it's self passed away 5 days before my birthday and Mom died 9 months later from complications of Diabetes and a "Broken Heart" I think from losing the Love of her life. I love and miss them both very much however this small voice inside me always wondered about my real mom and dad. Who are they? Where are they. I will probably die before ever getting to know them. Seeing this reunion made an emotional wreck out of me but I'm happy for these two finally reuniting. Yesterday is gone, Today is what's happening but Tomorrow holds new and exciting challenges and a chance to make new "Forever Memories". Enjoy the future, make your memories, but most important, "Ho;d on to the Love that you bot share for each other. God Bless you both.

if you're a truly great father your son will know. she can't keep him away from you his whole life. he'll want to see you and when he does he'll know you're meant to be in his life. there will be no reason he won't want to be in your life if you give him no reason not to. unfortunately, it might take a while for him to be able to see you on his own accord. just hang in there
@banfasso3109
@banfasso3109 10 жыл бұрын
Anozira Erised Thank you. I appreciate that. I will fight this battle until there's nothing left of me if I have to. My greatest worry is that the time apart is affecting our bond at an intrinsic level during this delicately formative time in his development. If it is, then his reaction to me through the following years will have been irrevocably altered. I had a weekend dad from the age of 4 onwards. My mother never remarried (or even had boyfriends, really) so all I ever wanted was my father in my life more. My mother has always been obese and afflicted with debilitating health issues (god bless her soul) so her single status was not surprising. My ex-wife, however, is knockout gorgeous and nowhere near as independent as my mother so she will likely remarry some schmuck (like me) within years. That happened to my cousin. She had a son with some guy but the relationship didn't work out and she put the guy through the ringer in family court and ultimately won full custody. Then she remarried some guy and they had their own daughter together....but.... here's the kicker (and it's a real kicker)... My cousin had her son's last name changed from the first guy's last name to the new guy's last name. What a kick in the fucking balls. My cousin's a real cunt.

I don't see where they made fun of anything. They reunited a man with his father because he asked them to. His father was a willing participant, too, and his gratitude could be seen in his reaction when he first saw the preparations being made. I have never met my father either. My mom was living at my home country at the time and she went abroad with my aunt for better work. All I know is that I resemble my dad a lot and was named after him. He could be anywhere in the world right now. This guy's lucky his dad was in the same country as him. As far as I could know my dad might not even speak the same language as me. Art is 20 years older than me, so it's not a big deal. You believe that God is your father. I believe that nobody is my father, and nothing will fill that gap in my life missing moments where I needed a dad. That's why, like how Art mentioned, I aspire to become a father so that my son or daughter won't have the same experience I lacked in my childhood.

Arthas Menethil She might know he was a neglectful self absorbed drunk or something. A lot of people who don't know their fathers is because he didn't want to have a family and he took off. That wouldn't be someone worth connecting with later on just to be hurt again. I'm not saying all absent fathers are like that, but it seems like it would be a good portion to me that are. Why would a father be absent and never connect back again?

Has anyone noticed the father and son have an almost identical laugh? I've read some disappointing comments below. Some people seem to spend a lot of energy looking for a fault somewhere and build their own theory on it. I have to wonder if they watched the whole episode. I took care of a friend's daughter when she was young. Her mother was jealous of our bond and lied to me about where she was. I finally met up with her 13 years later. She didn't know I was looking for her and I didn't know she was in the area until a mutual friend contacted her. She was on my doorstep within an hour. We're in regular contact to this day. Our reunion was a lot like this one, not quite as emotional, but having experienced it for myself, I believe this was real, even if they asked for a few rehearsed sound bites. Who really cares? They were united. I think a few people have too much time on their hands and spend their time on KZbin writing terrible comments just for the sake of it.

Big part of shows like these are the chiseled typos and smiles. That's part of why. The other part is due to late night people not comfortable with their own lives. Civilization isn't within a few years. The 12.000 years is just passing by at the moment.

This has got to be the weirdest fucking show ever. Oh, and he has known of his son's existence for 20 years and not done a thing? I don't think much of the biological mother either. I have an older brother I never met. Shit happens, and sometimes things are out of people's control. In my own dad's case the mother lied to him, told him that she had a miscarriage and they never saw each other again. He was really young, a lot younger than she was, and he was leaving for the military. He left, and it wasn't until the boy he never even knew about was 21 that, maybe out of guilt? Who knows? But the mother emailed my dad, told him about him, but asked him not to reach out. That it would only confuse him, since the man that raised him was the man he thought was his real father. Before you take the time to judge someone, take the time to realize that their journey in life is NOT your journey. You did not experience or go through what they did; all you get is a tiny snippet, a little sliver when they appear on something like this. You took the 40 or so minutes that you watched this show and used that to judge a lifetime.

my dad turned his back on my birth mother and threw her away. I searched for her and found her after 18 years but the damage he had done to her was so bad I understood why she hid and still continues to hide. He remarried and then threw me away like my mother but I am better for it because I am stronger and have grown to be more of a woman and better mother for my children. I wish only the best for this reunited father and son.
