From George RR Martin's "A Feast for Crows."
If you like what you're hearing, be sure to check out my channel, where you can find all of my A Song of Ice and Fire recorded chapters in order in playlists! And leave a comment! I don't care about any youtube algorithm reach nonsense but I love hearing from people who are listening!
I am in no sense a professional reader, voice actor, or what have you. I began this audiobook project some years ago when some friends of mine jokingly said they'd read A Song of Ice and Fire (my favorite fantasy series) if I personally recorded the whole series in audiobook form and sent it to them. Having now made my way almost through the first two books in the series, I decided to join the small community of people who post their own amateur audibook readings to youtube, and share my efforts.
I have no intention of profiting off of the work that is copyrighted to George RR Martin. This upload is a tribute to a series I deeply love, and I strongly encourage you to purchase these books. You won't regret it.
Also I should give full credit to my cat, Claudio, for the frequent background meows and purring sounds you hear throughout.

Easily one of the best chapters in the entire series, and not just because of the "Broken Man," speech. This chapter is just full of beauty, from the lush descriptions of the tidewater landscape, to the tranquil village scenes. This book in general has some of GRRM's best prose.

Oh right, because the Iron Bank is calling in all its outstanding debts to screw with westeros’s economy and put pressure on the crown, yeah? I’d never made that connection but it makes sense. Real medieval lords were all up to their eyeballs in debt.

Randall Tarly is somehow less likable in the books than he was in the show Also, I love Brienne's chapters for the same reason I loved many of Arya's. You get to see Westeros from the ground--from the viewpoint of the common person--instead of from the viewpoint of a noble or a knight, and the transient nature of Brienne's story along with all the people she interacts with are amazing when it comes to worldbuilding

It says a lot about Randall Tarly and for your excellent voicing of him that in a world of sadists, murderers, rapists, pedophiles, necrophiles, cannibals etc that he is just about as dislikable a character as there is despite not doing any of these heinous crimes lol

how is that a fair concept when it mostly punishes the children that they abuse and neglect?
@justarandomgirlvx3578
@justarandomgirlvx3578 Ай бұрын
@@hijo1998Exactly. If anything Randyll's and Tywin's false pride is a burden in itself, not their children. Only their rotten mindset made them despise their children. Samwell is not a craven, otherwise he could have never saved Goldy. Him being kind even when people say he shouldn't, even when it is a risk, is his act of bravery. Is he afraid? Oh yes he is. Yet he stands up for his morals when it matters. Randyll is more of a craven than he is. He would never admit to his short comings, and could never admit that a woman could possibly be as strong as a man as we see with Brienne. He instead tries to deny her gender and humanity: "Some men are blessed with sons, some with daughters. No man deserves to be cursed with such as you." And I don't have to emphasise where Tyrion's strengths are I think...

@@user-vj6us1nn9q The thing you are forgetting is that this world is cruel because of people like Randyll Tarly. Like seriously, washing the genitals of a prostitute with lye because she spread an illness that probably one of HIS OWN MEN gave her? That's cruelty that he imposes. What he does to Samwell is cruelty as well. Samwell is not easily startled despite his father, he is easily afraid BECAUSE of his father. His father is too proud and too possessed by his ideals of masculinity to see Samwells potential. Samwell is knowledgable and kind. And his kindness and knowledge already saved people. People like Randyll bring death, destruction, war, meanwhile people like Samwell heal and make the world a better place. This world doesn't need Randylls, it needs Briennes, Samwells and Davoses.
