Okay, Jess, I am going to suggest two holiday books by two US authors who I love. David Baldacci usually writes some wonderful, high quality espionage books, however his book, “A Christmas Train,” is very different. It’s still good quality, but def has some hokey holiday shenanigans. The other book is by Fannie Flagg. She is completely southern and I LOVE her stuff. She wrote “Fried Green Tomatoes,” which was also made into a good movie. Again, maybe a little hokey, but she takes you along on a good story: “A Redbirds Christmas.” I hope you enjoy these books. I went to go see Wicked with my sister, brother-in-law, and nephew and it was such a great movie. I really enjoyed it. You must be happy to finish all your exams and relax at Christmastime.

During our power outage of 6 days during the cyclone bomb in the PNW we went and saw Wicked. It was awesome. As a kid my dad and I read all the Oz books together.

you can get little tools that help you peel oranges, no more orange peel under your nails, i hate that feeling too!

Tip for peeling oranges. Rub the entire orange forcefully on a hard surface before peeling. It makes the orange peel easier to remove

Can you get naartjies in Canada? They'd have to be imported from South Africa probably. They're a very loose skinned citrus, and sweeter than oranges. Also smaller. But they are very easy peelers!

Oh Ginny - thank you sooo much for the giggle! 😂😂😘 Of course you asked because you don't know, so here's the scoop: There are black bears in Ontario, but their range is quite a ways north of the Brock cabin. This time of year, though, they'll be hibernating. We do have a significant coyote population around here, and they can be a problem. The fact that the Brocks have 3 dogs will be enough of a deterrent, I expect. Merry Christmas to you & yours, and all the best in 2025. 🤗🥳😁
