Zoe what kind of tea would you rec to someone who can’t stand the bitter/dull taste 😩 for some reason I’m a fiend for coffee but can’t get into tea haha
@ZoePritchard7 ай бұрын
@@katejung9112 i got into tea with earl grey! it's like an english breakfast (traditional black tea) but richer and more flavourful. Try a "Cream of Earl Grey" (I love David's Tea) and add some milk + sugar to get you started. You can then slowly taper down the sugar :)

As someone who currently lives in Ottawa, I loved this! I used to really think Ottawa was SUPER boring, but then after lockdown, I actually made an effort to try out some new places, restaurants, museums, etc. and appreciating the nature that we're so close to (Gatineau Park!) and my view has changed. Is it the most exciting city? No. Does it have a TON to offer residents and visitors? Absolutely! I have found the absolute cutest coffee shops and indie bookstores in Centretown that I adore with my whole heart. I lived in Toronto for 5 years and while I enjoyed my time there, I'm glad I'm no longer living there. Staying at the Chateau Laurier sounds like such a dream and looks like it was super fun! I want to do high tea there. It seems like such a fun experience :)

@@jeNess38 Ahh, I'm so excited for you and I hope you end up loving Ottawa! For bookstores, consider Perfect Books, Octopus Books, Black Squirrel Books, and Books on Beechwood. For restaurants/cafes, consider 528 Coffee Collective, Ahora, Arlington Five, Art House Cafe (my favorite cafe), Astoria Bistro Botanique (my favorite sit-down restaurant), Ayla's Social Kitchen, Beandigen, Ceylonta, City Goose/Pizza Nerd, Drip House, Falafel Scoop, Gongfu Bao, Hugo/Social Thai, Little Victories, Luxe Blooms, Manx Pub, Oat Couture, Ottawa Bike Cafe, Pirho, Pourboy, Pure Kitchen, St. Elsewhere, Sula Wok, Thali, Toro Taqueria, Vanitea, Wild Oats, Wise Town Cafe, and Wolf Down (my favorite take-out). Ppl can say what they want about Ottawa but most of us who live here are fine with any labels because we know the city provides a very good quality of life, and all the simple things that can make up true happiness, like proximity to nature, it's generally safe, traffic is mostly manageable, etc. We are within 2 hrs of Montreal and Toronto is a doable trip too if we want any extra excitement that Ottawa may lack. If you know, you know!

I think Ottawa people want the rest of the world to think it's boring. Funny thing is, I speak french more often in Ottawa than I do in Montreal. Anywhere I go in Ottawa there will be french. In Montreal, very seldom. Russell county, just outside of Ottawa is the biggest french community outside of Quebec.

I relate to the spreading thin when going home a lot. I live abroad in France and each time I go back to germany I dont know who to visit. My parents are divorced and live 1 hour apart. My sister lives in even another town 1.5h from them. My two best friend live in yet two other town that are "conveniently" right in the north and south of gzrmany whereas my parents and sister are in the middle. And then my hrandma lives in the west 🥲 it's impossible to see everyone and not spend 5 weeks there... So I usually see them one by one but thats a lot of travel. I mean if you've moved out of ottawa and enjoyed other luxuries life provides you, of course you could say the not nicest things about ottawa but if you've lived here you whole life some of your options might not feel the best....our style not being the nicest or having the try, i try hard every day. The language and culture is inclusive I'm sorry if being called your boyfriends last name offends you... idk I was excited to watch this but about 11 mins in I was over it.... enjoy your stay at the most haunted hotel in ottawa...
