Bowser RPG That was an inconsistency on the anime's part. He did catch a cold in episode 4 (The Kracko episode) and even though episode 39 (the Harry Potter reference episode) shows us that apparently he cannot read, this is not true since he has been shown to be able to *read and write* in episode 21 (the princess episode).
