This is one of my favorite courtroom movies. My favorite is My Cousin Vinny with Joe Pesci. I don't know if you've seen it yet, but it is absolutely hilarious.

I saw it. So funny! It should be in the courtroom playlist if you wanna check it out

I love that we see the opposing counsel not being "bad". Kevin Bacon plays bad guys perfectly, but "Jack" was opened and honest and I loved it

The military requires you to obey all lawful orders. But if you know an order is unlawful, you are required to follow the law and not the order. Saying you were just following orders is no excuse, you're still responsible for breaking the law. That's why they were found guilty of conduct unbecoming, because they knew code reds were supposed to be forbidden.

One of my favorite moments is when the judge reprimands the colonel (Jack Nicholson): And the witness will address this court as Judge or Your Honor. I'm quite certain I'VE earned it. YESSSSSSSSSSSS. 😄❤

Great reaction my friend, I love your reactions! Please react to another great court room movie, The Rainmaker, 1995, I think. Starring Matt Damon, Jon Voight, and Danny Devito!

You might also want to have a look at "Casualties of War", which is also based on a true story, and addresses the question of what to do when given unlawfull orders.

Make the work of Aaron Sorkin a part of your life--The West Wing (the first four seasons), The Newsroom, The Social Network, Molly's Game. Sorkin is a brilliant writer of dialogue, and all his work is very rewarding,

New to your channel, great reaction 🙂 This story is, sort of, based on a true story. Arron Sorkin, who wrote the film, got the story from his sister Deborah. She is a lawyer and did a 3 year stint in the JAG Corp. She was asked to defend 3 marines who were charged with assaulting a fellow marine under the instructions of an officer. There was no death of the marine in the real story. Danny is based in part on Sorkin's sister, Deborah. Fantastic film, 100% a masterpiece 🙂

As a former Marine when you are given a direct order no matter what you think you follow through with that order or you get punished you don't have chances for promotion
@sherrysink3177 Жыл бұрын
I may be wrong, but I always saw the order "Unit, Core, God, Country" as putting God 3rd in line, below Unit and Core, which are considered the top most important things to a soldier. (As in, look after your unit and respect your Marine core first, and then God and country) Can any soldiers out there confirm? Or is the order being stated from bottom to top, with Country above all else and God 2nd, and then the Marine core and your unit?

Colonel Jessup was 100% right. When you address a superior officer, you show the proper respect that comes with that rank. You’re not respecting the man, you’re respecting the rank, and Danny-boy failed. His heels were locked up properly the way they should be.

The Navy Medical corps failed to diagnose a life threatening condition and reported it to the marine's command as an attitude problem. That they were not the ones on trial angers me.
