Agreed but that goes for the same as many many others from 2007 until 2022. One that comes to mind is Graig Joubert from SA who blatantly robbed the french form victory in the 2011 RWC Final in suckalnc]\d NZ, then not to mention the semi Scotland v Australia same ref. How about Nick Berry ref in the British Lions v Springboks. The real issue is World rugby. That's where the problem lies.

Even if New Zealand won, they probably would have lost in the semifinals. They had all the talent but lacked mental strength. Thanks to this game, they finally addressed that and went on to win the next two world cups.

They would of hammered an average English team in the semifinals unlike the French who meekly went out . The All Blacks were the only team in the world that had the Boks number and they would of gone on to easily win the final as well. Its just the French who have an ability to play the best game in the world but then play like muppets the following week.

As a kiwi, I think France are the favourites to win the World Cup, they are an excellent side and have the best forward pack imo. They are also going to be incredibly hard to defeat in Paris. At this point, my prediction is a France v Ireland final, but do not underestimate the English, Welsh and Scottish who are also very good sides capable of going all the way. All Blacks and SA need to make some adjustments at this point if they want to be champions again. Australia and Argentina I’d also keep an eye on as both can be dangerous sides. I think it’s going to be one of the best world cups to watch

the bias shown in this video is just incredible. The French forward pass is mentioned again and again, but the forward pass in the first NZ try, not once. Nor the illegal double movement in the second NZ try: player has knee on the ground, he is tackled, therefore not allowed to propel himself forward. A fijian try was disallowed for that reason just a few days ago. It's actually incredible that an international body like World Rugby shows such bias. I hate to say it, but things are much more balanced in FIFA and international football. No wonder rugby does not grow outside its traditional sphere of influence.

This was the only side that really choked. The only other RWC the ABS should of won was in 95 but they unfortunately drank South African tea leading up to the match. In in 91 and 99 the media talked up the ABs but the fans knew that they were vulnerable and so it eventuated with the Aussies deserved winners on both occasions

Paul Honiss the NZ international ref said that when it was announced to the Refs group at the RWC that Barnes would get the NZ vs France most Refs in the room were extremely surprised given his youth and inexperience and the importance of the event and calibre of the teams competing.What was the most frustrating is that in 99.9% of tests if one team dominates the possession you know the defending team will eventually give up defensive penalties. It's inevitable Like an episode of the Twilight Zone this strangely didn't happen and as a result ,the most successful kicker in the history of Rugby Union couldn't put it out of reach.

If only they had the TMO back then obvious to everyone that was no try even the commentator saying "now was it forward ??? yes it was by a mile" Obvious something had to change the game couldn't go on with the Referee and lineman being unsighted and getting it wrong. The referee admitted later he got it wrong. The All Blacks copped a bad call there. And France were very lucky technology wasn't around then. History now when we all know better today.

Wales and Scotland were given a few games for backing the French bid for the 2007 tournament. Scotland got to host the All Blacks at Murrayfield in Edinburgh during the Pool Stage despite France being the hosts.

Yea Barnes had a shocker in this game and should’ve listened to his assistants over the forward pass, but it was World Rugby’s fault for appointing him to a quarter final when he was very inexperienced. Today (as a Kiwi), I think Barnes is a fantastic referee. All blacks selectors made some shocking calls too by taking Mcalister, Mauger and Toeava over Nonu and taking Ellis and Leonard over Weepu. Those 2 became key members of our 2011 RWC win

@@xaviercharles9616 do you have any facts to back up that claim? Your maths doesn't add up anyway as 26 cannot be divided by three, which leads me to believe that you're being speculative. It was reported that Wayne Barnes had missed up to 40 penalties in that Quarter Final that France had committed. He didn't penalize France at all in the second half. Craig Joubert on the other hand gave France opportunities to kick penalties in the second half of the 2011 Final. The two games are incomparable and it seems to be people angry that the All Blacks had finally won the tournament again who screamed about Joubert's performance the most.
