One time, in high school, I sang this song to some fishes on a boating trip. I'd been wading in the water for hours and they were all around me, whilst everyone else was on the boat. A few of the parents made some comments like, "That girl is pretty strange, isn't she?" or "That weird girl seems really lost in this world," or finally things like, "She's got her head in the clouds. She's going to have a rough time out there!" My friend's dad stood up, looked them dead in the eyes, and said, "Don't you ever talk negatively about that little girl singing her favorite songs to some fish! That girl is a singer and a writer and she doesn't even know it! Don't you EVER try to diminish her creative spirit." Years later, I'm a singer, a songwriter, pursing music, and this song represents one of my favorite memories... one of the first times someone believed in me and my weirdness(: One of us is gonna be running off alone, into the great unknown~
