During a covert mission, Luke Skywalker and a Rebel intel team became trapped by Imperial forces. Fleeing into the forests, they met an unlikely Clone Wars survivor. Stranded on the remote world for two decades, clone trooper Able 1707 was unaware of the fall of the Republic and the rise of the Empire. What impacted him most was the purge of the Jedi. When Luke revealed himself as a Jedi, Able removed his helmet and reported for duty. Aiding the Rebels, Able stormed the Imperial landing craft, clearing the way for the Rebels to board their transports and escape. As the last transport lifted off, Luke saw Able alone in Imperial crosshairs. Diving in with his X-Wing, Luke rescued the clone and raced to rendezvous with the fleeing Rebels. Later, aboard Home One, Able found new life in the ongoing struggle for freedom when he accepted a position with Alliance Intelligence.

Not every Jedi encouraged their clones to have personalities. I’m sure Krell, Luminara, Ki Adi Mundi and other dogmatic Jedi didn’t care much about their men. I’m pretty sure Jedi like Krell or Quinlon Voss were quite common while Anakins or Plo Koons were rare. Obiwan only had a few clones with painted armor during Ryloth so it’s safe to assume only officers or maybe Veterans of Geonosis got that honor like Waxer and Boil. I think Comet and Sinker had paint too and they were revealed to be higher ranked in later seasons but by that time everyone had unique armor. TLDR just because his armor is white doesn’t mean he missed half the war.

First of all, Luminara did encourage her clones to have personality, Gree, Nemec Fireball and the rest of her clones on Kashykk had different armours than standard clone armors. So did Mundi, his clones had reddish brown painted armour. IDK about Quinlann or Krell, but as far as I can see, they were one of those Jedis who didn't really have a specific battalion to command and only commanded when their help was required. Might I point out that Quinlann never had an issue with the clones. He was even friendly on Cody. And regarding obi wan's case, he did encourage his clones. As far as I know, not so much as to when they were in phase 1 but when they were in phase 2, they literally all had paintjobs. TBH, I only saw clones unpainted in phase 2, such as Howzer's team, and Grey's team in the TBB. Most likely because, they were clones released nearly after the Republic was reorganized into the Empire. My point being, I'm not saying all the clones did have markings. But those that did, literally fought in the Clone Wars. Those that didn't were somewhat one of the last batches to be deployed before the Empire started recruiting humans throughout the galaxy.

actually, it was 27 years. the Imperial Japanese soldier said that he wouldn't surrender until he was specifically told to stand down by his superior officers. The man that found the soldier, literally had to go & find the soldier's former/retired commanding officer, bring him to the Philippines, and then witness as the soldier finally stands down.

Reminds me a lot of the story of that one WWII Japanese serviceman who spent like decades in isolation on a Pacific island, still thinking the war was going on. He continued keeping himself ready for combat for such a long time, only to finally be convinced to surrender and that the war was indeed long over when his former commanding officer was brought in to tell him. Guy kept raiding and doing military activities until like the 1970s if I recall.

For anyone wondering, this isn’t Disney canon. This is from the mid-2000s Expanded Universe. Able didn’t have an inhibitor chip, he just never received order 66 or saw much of the war because he was stranded for so long. (Hence the phase I armor) Pretty good read if you can find the comic anywhere or if there’s some scans online, so is Darth Vader and the ghost prison, dark horse made some incredibly brutal stories back in the day.

There is also another WW2 soldier who was killed during a shoot out with the local police. And this happened when Japan already surrendered.

But it the we’re everywhere because the prime minister at the time issued the announcement of their surrender in kanji or some old language they don’t commonly speak anymore and a lot of soldiers were confused as a result that combined with their unwavering loyalty and patriotism towards their empire led to a lot of holdouts. There were some in China, India, the Philippines, Thailand, and many pacific islands. Ngl I respect the hell out of the Japanese people and soldiers for the amount of pride they have in their country even now.(regardless of the atrocities they committed) It’s something we here in America have lost over the years as a result of what our beloved country has become

2 decades for a clone is like 50 years for normal ppl maybe even older bc they hav accelerated aging gene they put in them bc they really didn't expect many of them to live long enough to grow old.
