"I bet she’s a teacher who doesn’t read the contract" people read contracts because it would be foolish not to. I get your point, she seems really nice. But just because a teacher cares about their own financial situation doesn't make them bad people. It's a career job, and the only time i hear people talk about a profession where the employee should just shut it and be happy for what they got is teachers. It's a shame that they are being held to a different standard than everyone else. They have families to feed just like everyone else.

@demsharp30706 жыл бұрын
Dreaming On Melrose Street is not only in USA. Teachers get paid the lowest everywhere.
I think when SOME people have children in school, they blame teachers a lot for behavior, grades, etc and it lowers their respect for teachers, even though the parents are probably the ones in the wrong. They don't want to think they are to blame, so they dis the teacher. Glad this young man has a true, giving heart.

If you are a teacher or school staff member reading here, I hope you realize the difference you can make just as this teacher did. When I was 14 my sister died in a car crash, not only did that loss devastate me, it meant that her two children ages 3 months and 19 months moved into my bedroom for a year, crying for their mother, disrupting my sleep and my schooling. The assistant principle at my high school made my days a LIVING HELL by riding my back about attendance. My lowest grade was a B- which was miraculous considering, but that man rode me and my older brother both until we dropped out of school. I took the GED and went to college but I will never forget the cruelty of Mr. John Brown at Columbia Central High School, Brooklyn, Michigan.

Wonderful story. 45 yrs ago I met Alice King, an Atlanta school teacher at a special conference on spirituality. We became friends, spent time with her when in ATL She was wonderful. Couple years after meeting her we went to look for shoes for grandkids at a department store in a mall within a black community a mile or so from her home. 50 feet inside the door, young students and their parents came by the handfuls to hug her. Took us 20-30 minutes to get to show department. It was wonderful to observe the love and appreciation. As we went to her car a good size guy in his 30s approached. Miss King, I am__ ______, I would be dead or in prison now if you had helped me in elementary school. Most of my friends are. In those moments, at that mall, I finally got a truly deep understanding of Alice King. High quality, caring teachers are so important to our society. I have had many. So fortunate.
