farming today was a nightmare - everyone of my usual spots was filled with bots (more than usual) with 2 layers farming gold is impossible lol.

Very true. The sad part is that when it’s impossible to make gold by farming because of all the bots, you eventually start feeling like you probably should just say fuck it and buy gold since it’s all rigged anyways

I went on my horde priest to this exact spot on Lonewolf NA and reported dozens while adding 'PlayerNotes' and using 'Reported' addon to track those already reported. Eventually I got to the point whre I was just seeing the same bots and no new ones even after rotating through layers. Came back the next evening and the number was massively reduced, only saw a couple of the same names still running but also some new names. It sucks that Blizzard has handed off all policing of this to player reports but they do work most of the time in SoD.

​@Meyohe they increased sub fees in Argentina by 3000 percent to try and mitigate the profit margins of bot accounts, but given that you can Google how much gold is selling for, it's an absurdly high amount. Why people would pay money for digital currency that you'll never actually own is beyond me. When wow shuts down their servers at some point in the future all the money spent is in the shitter

Botters make gold to sell to other players. These players in turn use this gold to buy dungeon boosts from OP mages or hunters at 15g per run, essentially giving gold back to the gold seller, who then continues to sell the gold, rinse and repeat.

Gdkp was a known source of gold laundering, which even though some players may have been legit, was still the correct call in my opinion. Taking away the lucrative points of selling gold, amd eventually you'll get to the root of the problem.

this is why I refuse to give Blizzard anymore money. Even though I have never bought or sold gold, after years of running GDKP in numerous mmos, Blizzard decides my playstyle is bad while ignoring blatant botting running 24/7 across every server.

Keep in mind that you give this company money to be able to play their game. They will never change this, they haven't for more than a decade. Fortunately for my guild and I we don't let botting or RMT get in the way of our enjoyment of the game! Its sad to see others indulge in this behavior but it is what it is. Only thing we can do to help is report it and hope something is done. Regardless we are still having the best time we can.

I was farming some mageweave for the epic helmet for a couple of nights in feralas, the two tauren camps. just look in between them theres always a huge amount of bot hunters there. reporting them does nothing they are still there the next night farming 24/7 making everything I farm to try and make gold utterly useless. Meanwhile Blizzard is showing they CAN actually put gm's in the game, but they are too busy tanking the stv boss making the entire servers lag. Absolutely crazy...

not true, since china has banned wow most "blizzlike" priv servers are overrun with non english speakers and bots and the people who run them are in the pockets of the bot goldfarms. an example is everlook and darrowshire priv servers

Every one of the mage bots going into the stockades has Enlightenment on. Only a bot would use that rune. I'm scared of how much the economy is going to get inflated from this. also who is even buying THAT much gold. It seems overkill to me but maybe they actually have that many buyers.

GDKPs being banned made me want to come back. Also wanted to see how the tech specifically dealt with these bots as they were horrible ph1. Finally uninstalled Bnet and my sub runs out in 2days~. Glad I seen this and checked it out on my server. Its the exact same on Wild Growth NA.

I don't really think it was a solution to make the in-game currency less practicable. What I love about classic is that gold actually matters. I really don't believe that there is not way to detect those bots. There must be patterns and so on.. I think it just has no priority at blizzard because they pay and the GDKP ban is more like "greenwashing". I hope they no that it is NOT okay to do the wow token. In wow classic, where gold matters, this makes it p2w.

After SoD, Phase 1... I unsubbed and will likely never sub again to WoW... After Diablo 4 and Diablo Immortal I'm pretty sure I'll never give them money for anything unless they somehow have a MASSIVE shift in leadership and product goals BTW, if you're still playing wow classic in any form, you know Blizzard doesn't care ONE BIT about bot issues. Un-f*cking-subscribe... vote with your wallet as they say. If everyone unsubs and bitches on social media (all social media platforms) about why they have quit. Blizzard will have to do something or close up shop.

I've heard the horde bots are in arathi. all hunters skinning. A guildie was farming the bots. they were all in Hillsbrad last phase but not as many as are in stockades

Gearing obselesence ramping up through catch up gear and boosting provides environment for insecure people to want to buy or boost a character to top of the gearing progression. This creates a market for gold farmers , tokens, blizzard generating gold to sell under the table and to sell characters.

Don't you understand that they can't just "look" at some dudes and whoever is taking a certain route "BOOM BANHAMMER" ... i guarantee you there will be so many non-bot accounts banned and then they have so much work to distinguish and unban those.
