Always fun to feed the fish. They're greedy things. Glad you got to have a dry breakfast. That's such a pretty spring.

This looks like a wonderful State Park to visit! It looks like a State Park from Upstate NY. This is one of Missouri's gems. If we are in the area, we will need to see it. Thank you for making us see how beautiful it is, Kay 😊

How do we get to the mouth of the spring where the waterfall is? Up deer leap trail? Awesome video! We're going out to explore roaring rivers today!!!

There’s a side walk from the fish hatchery parking lot. Really easy to get to. Enjoy your visit.

Why was it called deer leape ??? Can you also spot some deer there ??
@HappyTrailsHiking3 жыл бұрын
There are deer in the area. I am not sure of why they called the trail that. I tried to look up the history and came up with no info. Thanks, Carin.

I went to Roaring River on a field trip back in school. The Park Ranger took us up the Deer Leap trail and told us how it got its name. So a long time ago a deer was being chased. I can't remember if it was being hunted by a person or an animal. I'm thinking it was a hunter. Anyways as it came to the cliff edge at the top of the trail where the platform is built, the deer leaped off and into the water that is below and survived. It's a long way down so it must have been pretty awesome to see.
