Outstanding transformation. The detailed painting adds extra layers of realism and the Renault paint colour makes this so special! Thank you, Johan!

It looks much better now than it would have when it was new. The new paint colour is far more in-keeping what that class of car than the original yellow. A very fine restoration job!

Thanks, Paul! That was what I was aiming for. Norev Jetcar models are not bad, but they often lack in detailing.

Thanks, Martin! There were indeed some broken parts. The importance of having at least one parts car at hand.

Ah the car looks even better now with the new gold color and painted details - almost champagne color. That’s how a proper premium car should look like and not that hideous yellow color. Another well done restoration or restomod

Im fascinated by the micro welder. I have toys to restore and the whizzwheels axles need replacing but i would need a welder to flare the axle ends. Did you make the welder yourself ? Great workmanship Johan. Tommy.
@BelgianDiecastRestorations10 күн бұрын
Thanks, Tommy! It's called a jewelry spot welder. It's mainly used to weld very small metal parts, like links of necklaces, but it also works great to seal the ends of small axles. You can find them on Amazon and AliExpress. Just search for 'Jewelry welder'. Mine is an 80 amp type, but that's already pretty powerful for axles. A lower power welder will work just as fine.

Thanks! This particular one is from a large lot of playworn cars in eBay. That's where I find most of the models to restore. I also find a lot of models in yard sales and on the monthly collectors fair in Brussels.

Nice,apart from the sagging suspension!wheels look not quite right,thicker axles would solve that.
@BelgianDiecastRestorations22 күн бұрын
Thanks, Terry! I think the problem is that the wheels are worn and the holes have become too wide. Thicker axles can indeed solve this, but as you can see in the video, the axles are held in place by a small plastic clip. Thicker axles will put a lot of stress on that lip, breaking it.
