Here's a few films that I've been watching lately on physical media. Hopefully some of these movies match your tastes and resonate with you!

Of those Disney shows, Andor is the standout. Phenomenal show.

Agree. I found a lot of issues with Obi-wan, which most of my friends liked 🤷♂️

@@ElliotCoen i like both but andor is a masterpiece.

It's quite interesting that your review of the Marvels is the opposite to of mine. I found the power switchy plot quite tedious and was glad when it was over, but the "melodramatic moments" between the characters were great to watch. Just goes to show that we're all different :)

Indeed! I’m glad you enjoyed that aspect of the film. Thanks for watching!

I’ve been on the fence about Femme for awhile now but I think I’ll try it out and add it to my watch/buy list 👍

The Roaring Twenties 4K Criterion release is an amazing release and I totally agree about classic films on 4K. If anything, I’d say that a lot of modern films that were shot and/or edited at 2k don’t ‘need’ a 4K release. Having just picked up Lone Star on 4K, the 88 Films release of the amazing Matewan, and Kino’s In the Heat of the Night 4K disc, I’m spent up. Regarding that release, which surprisingly comes with the two follow up films, do you know of other releases that have done that? I’d love you to do a video of some of the best packages of similar ilk. Thanks.

I can't bring myself to buy UK Criterion 4Ks at £29.99, because I'm so used to paying $25 for US releases when they go on sale. I'm willing to wait until the Black Friday 25% off sales to buy them
@ElliotCoen2 ай бұрын
That’s a fair point. I’m really hoping we start to get some regular sales on the UK Criterions. They would sell a lot of units.

Here in Sweden we need to pay 45-50 pounds for a Criterion UK 4k, which I would never pay. It is really absurd.

Here in Egypt we don't have criterion and you have to pay 3000 Egyptian pounds for a criterion . A ridiculous price of course for a country who is in decline

I saw The Marvels in Real 3D and liked it a lot. I was glad to see the old Nick Fury back after his underwhelming story in Secret Invasion. And I love Brie Larson in anything she does. Last month I bought The Marvels in 4K and 3D. To get the 3D version (both versions come in the same case), I had to buy from Amazon Japan because I can't buy the 3D version in the U.S.

Flesh Gordon is so good. If you're like me and have a Beavis and Butthead sense of humour aka laugh at any sexual innuendo, Flesh Gordon is one of the funniest movies ever. It's also so impressive from a low budget effects point of view. The actual sex stuff is extremely tame for anyone put off by it, it's most certainly 'softcore'.

Elliot, how come you got that Mill Creek steelbook of ‘I know what you did last summer’ when there’s an excellent 4K release from Sony? Just wondering!

Really sad that Flesh Gordon has a nicer release than the original serial.
