A frosty flight to Goodwood

With poor winter weather conditions dominating the month, Eve and I grab any opportunity we can to fly. We drop into Goodwood Aerodrome to visit their amazing cafe for brunch.
We were fortunate enough to be greeted by lots of pilots who watch the channel. Eve and I finally get to meet up with the ATC operator who offered me sanctuary last year when it looked like the weather might ground me on a flight to Kent (see previous video).

Another great video. I was flying out over Hayling Island and then East past Bognor Regis yesterday. It was very cold but at least I had the cabin heater going. I really love your videos as everything is nice and relaxed and it's a pleasurable ride-along.

Super video of your flight from Goodwood to Spire View, really enjoyed seeing the sights around the Solent. I see you met Richard at Goodwood, what a smashing fellow he is. And Rob from the tower at Gwd, top FISO. Thanks for mentioning the chap who did his first solo in the Sportair C42 G CKYL. He made a great job of it. I was watching him from the tower I'm his instructor. Top day for all involved. He mentioned that he had met you in the restaurant area. Catch up next time we are both at Goodwood.

As you know, your first solo flight is one of the most memorable events of your life & I was so disappointed that I messed up the audio on my flight to Goodwood or I would have been able to catch more of your student’s first flight 🤦🏻‍♂️ Following him in I thought he did a fantastic approach… stable, predictable & good path 👏🏼 You have every reason to be proud 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Hopefully we will get the opportunity to meet the next time we’re at Goodwood 🤞🏼 We had a very nice welcome which made the visit that much more special 🥳

@@FlyingDarkLord I don't think he was too phased by anything, all looked fine from the tower. Earlier in the day whilst dual we had 6 in the Goodwood cct so he had plenty of practice watching for traffic. I used to fly a Robin registration G VECG so whenever I hear a "Charlie Golf" it gets my attention ! I currently instruct on another Robin 2160i as well, G PSFG, foxtrot golf.

Nice for you to be able to meet the “Dark Lord Saviour “ from Goodwood ATC… 👍….. I noticed you sent the car on the track into a right spin as you approached the hold at 32…… …. I guess being in the presence of an aviation ’Legend’ like the Dark Lord was enough to break his concentration ..!!!….😜 This time of year can offer such great vistas for we aviators … ( not totally sure about the gremlins in the final shot though !!!😱🤣…. It’s a bit surreal with the race track & Manor House, but a wonderful spectacle 👍🏼 There have been some beautiful clear & calm days, you’re right! If I had seen a blue Eurofox I would had waved my wings but the field appeared quiet. I went past Shaftesbury to the north at about 1.15pm. Lots of frost about on northern flanks of hills. Beautiful. 🙂

😂 it’s funny how the grass is always greener… I’d give a decade of ‘Festival of Speed’ for one year at Oshkosh!!! You guys have it so good for aviation (& weather) across the pond 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 FoS is a great event though & seems to go from strength to strength each year.
