I finished the game but felt like I still had no idea what was going on, I nuked a spider twice, did something, got teleported to a place where there was something called work, I planted some explosives and nuked the place then pressed E to pick it up because I thought there would be another boss, I instantly died then there was credits. IDK what happened.

"and that's just because I play a ton, don't think there is anything to memorise there" About the wands you recognise, there are actually visual rules you can memorise that tell you a variety of information about the wand from just it's sprite alone. The longer a wand is the more capacity it will have. Wands with multiple tips usually cast more than one spell at a time. And the number of tips is usually consistent, so twin tipped wands cast 2 and 3 tips casts 3 or more. A wand that has a crystal embedded in it (aside from the starting bomb wand) is ALWAYS a non shuffler. and wands without that crystal are always shufflers unless you have the relevant perk. It's one very minor reason why I am not super fond of that perk because it doesn't force wands to generate with that crystal even though its such a tiny detail. I imagine the in lore reason is that the crystal stabilises the power of the wand. A wand with a glowing blue aura around it has an always cast spell. I think there is maybe something to do with the width of a wand but I don't know if there is any hint on reload times. But usually wands with long reload times also have a lot of capacity and are thus longer to compensate. Sometimes if an enemy is carrying a wand you can tell what kinds of spells it has from the particle effects coming out of the wand. This is really noticeable if you find a wand in the first area with a bunch of toxic sludge shots. Those particle effects stack and the wand basically spews out flammable gas. I've learnt some cool stuff from this video already about the frogs and the actual size of formations. So I wanted to share something back.

My favorite part is the part where I'm told "you should have 3 or 4 hearts by this point" but I can reliably worm-blood or All-Seeing Eye all the way from the Mines to the Hiisi Base, fully clear all four biomes and see a grand total of one chest (helpfully locked inside a metal square) and zero hearts.
@ryanotte6737
@ryanotte6737 Жыл бұрын
That worm blood can come in handy getting a 25+ HP heart to the west of the Collapsed Mine section in the Dark Cave. There's at least one guaranteed heart to help mitigate the bad luck. 🤪

This sort of video is a really great way to learn for a lot of people, and a big part of why I like KZbin. Anything from car mechanics, to electricians, and software engineering, just being able to sort of sit back and watch over your shoulder while you do something you're great at is a cool way to learn. I'd been playing Noita casually since early access, and never got farther than the jungle. A few months ago I decided to finally look into lore and tips/tricks of the game, and ended up doing a 30 hour long, 11 orb run. There's just so much to this game, that it's nearly impossible to learn it all by yourself. While 30 hours is crazy long for an 11 orb run, I just had so much fun exploring and playing around with stuff I'd never been able to do before. ☺

The best tips I've gotten as a new player (started a week ago) are that 1) Wandcrafting is (debatably) the most important thing to learn 2) (meta) Knowledge is power I was hesitant to use outside resources and "spoil" the experience of discovering things myself but I quickly realized that I wouldn't have the time to go through this enormous world with a fine tooth comb. Life sometimes sucks like that but hitting those power combos and getting more consistent runs saved me more than enough frustration to make up for the fact I didn't discover some secrets organically.

I know this video is a year old but I've seen other comments from as little as a month ago so I wanted to leave my own. As someone who is very new to Noita, talking sub 10 hours so far, this type of content is exactly what I am looking for when it comes to learning more about the game and it's mechanics. Just hearing your thought processes and explanations for different mechanics here and there is super useful because I can take what I've learned and implement it into my own runs. Plus doing it while you play the game allows people to see that thinking on a moment to moment basis compared to in a controlled environment, (not that those aren't useful). I've only put in about 30 to 40 runs so far, most are over pretty quick since I'm still new and getting to grips with the game and it's systems but the amount of depth it has is captivating just knowing what's possible. I've got a lot to learn but videos like these help tremendously and for that you have my genuine gratitude. Hopefully one day I'll have my own crown and amulet and I'll look back on how far I've come from where I am now which is mostly getting blown up in the snowy depths and trying to climb up the sides of the map just to see what's up there. Onwards and upwards. o7

35:00. Actually there is a bit of knowledge to be learned there. the wand's looks are based on some of its stats. Wider wands have higher cast delay, longer wands have higher capacity, and wands with gemstones in them are non-shuffle. Recharge rate, spread, mana max, and mana charge speed have no visual indicator however.

Found you a couple weeks ago, and you have single handedly got me back into Noita! Your tutorials are the best I've seen and helped me enjoy the game much more. You often said things like "this is probably boring you guys", but I couldnt disagree more. You are both entertaining and informative. For feedback, I loved this video and would be happy to see more like it. I would say the pacing was great. I personally would not mind if you went into longer "rants" as I enjoy them, but you answered all my questions and more I had for the run (specifically the "how the hell does he check the wand stats so fast" haha). Thanks for the videos!

You keep the knowledge though. That's what I like the most with this game, with each run you get your hands on new knowledge, even after playing hundreds of hours, because it's so vast and everything is so complex, secret, and feels just forbidden. The best part is how the general athmosphere and lore plays with concept of forbidden magic. Using semi-bugs to get beyond what the game seems to naturally allow becomes very immersive in this context.

To explore the Dark Cavern left of the Collapsed Mines. Get the egg in the nest on the Giant Tree. Trow it, hope for a small worm, kill it. Scoop up the Worm blood in a flask. When you drink it, you can see in the Dark Cave for an amount of time. Worst case scenario. The egg can spawn a big, or even giant worm that can dig down to the shop and Anger The Gods.
@DunkOrSlam
@DunkOrSlam 2 жыл бұрын
Good tip =) I will try to remember to point that out! Though I am a little angry because last time I walked alllllll the way back to the top to get the egg to hatch a worm and it hatched a spider instead. The noita gods were toying with me that day.

KZbin randomly suggested this video and I stuck around until the end The thing for complex enough games like Noita is that you can hear infinite amount of advices but never be able to utilize them in any meaningful way until you see somebody knowlegdeble demonstrating mindset you need to be in any given situation. So this video was very interesting and informative even if I usually don't watch 2 hour long videos.

I really enjoy your videos man, and seeing full runs with a theme of giving as much knowledge as possible helps a whole lot. I have an idea for a possible series of educational full runs tho: how about you start the run with the intention of doing a specific thing, like "this run, I want to get to a parallel world" or "this run we will fight the skull boss" or " I will try to find the horror monsters lair. Why? Well though it might not always be successful and you might not get the necessary things to do the objective it could serve as a guide on how one prepares for such an occasion. I've beaten the game a few times, and now mostly I want to go to parallel worlds, defeat the bosses etc. but sometimes its hard to grasp the how of the things. But I also enjoy this type of runs as well, so no worry! Its fun to see an experienced player play and to see how we do things differently. And you can always learn some new neat trick.

This whole run was fire. This is my favorite video of yours yet, Dunk. If you ever get a run where you cant get chainsaw or teleport before hiisi base and get the W, I would love to see it. I feel like I have the worst luck with these and so I always end up sort of stuck with a slight variation on my starting wand up in the hiisi base (or the projectile swapped to my bomb wand). Either way, fantastic stuff, and I hope there are many more in the future.

This is EXACTLY the type of content that i'm looking for. A full run where an expert noita player deals with the general things the game gives them. I find that much more educational and entertaining than hand picked 'lucky' runs. Because this is the kind of run that I could have gotten, if I had made the same decisions to deal with the RNG the game gave me, and so many tricks that I didn't know about I learned from watching. As requested leaving a comment giving you feedback that yes, I do want more of this and hopefully I'm not alone in this! Because as you mentioned you kind of solved the goal of the run in the early jungle meaning you were able to blitz through the rest of the game, which is fine because of the goal you set for yourself in this run was already achieved. But in the future hopefully we can see some more runs like this where you can go over some more strategies on those levels. And even the side 'levels', the ones that aren't on the 'main' path. Personally I'd also be very interested in how an expert noita player takes an average run and turns it into a parrelel world run, or some of the harder to achieve goals. When I play I have a hard time transitioning from something like this run into a way harder goal like more orbs or hard achievements. Thanks for the content! I'll definitely drop by on twitch too!

Chose this Noita video sort of at random to relay a moderately interesting discovery I made. While playing an old game I DL'd from Jayisgames several years ago, I noticed an item pick-up called "Woolen hat of Hisii" or something similar to that. Having played several hours of Noita, I noticed the connection, however I am also not so dim to understand that Hisii is probably a word common to the Finnish language, and thus doesn't necessarilly prove a connection to Noita. To confirm this, I looked up "hisii", and yeah, it's a Finnish trickster/goblin type of being. So, maybe the game I was playing, "Maze of Space", was made by a Finnish person. I looked that up, and yes. It was made by a Finnish person, Petri Purho. Looked up what other games this Petri guy made, and gosh-and-golly. Kinda strange how the initial observation--"Woolen hat of hisii" led to this. Though, the art style of "Maze of Space" definitely is reminescent of Noita. It is kinda cool how I've been holding onto this old WIP game for a decade and a half, transferring it from one PC to another, and occasionally playing it when I got especially bored. That turned out to have been created by the person who designed another game that I spent a significantly larger amount of time playing. Serendipity. I hope you have a good day, Dunk. Same to any other person who runs across this silly comment.

The fact you can talk and narrate your thought process the whole time makes it entertaining, regardless of how fast or slow you go. You're a very natural speaker, so it's easy to listen to. As a newbie I know there's a lot going on that I don't pick up on, so when you decide to occasionally slow down to highlight certain things it helps a lot, like how to tell the shuffle wands apart. As long as you're explaining something the whole time I don't mind that you're not explaining everything. So I don't really have anything I'd change about this, it was great!

I like the rant about the softlock, but i think it's worthy of note that if you have teleport you can always technically get out of the softlock, because the game never wants to put the noita in solid materials, so if you keep spamming the teleport up, you will eventually make enough gap to get through or teleport in, if you get stuck just spam kick and fly in all directions to create a bigger pocket so you don't suffocate, repeat.

2 years late, but loved the video!! I like that when you take time to do things. If it gets a bit boring, we can easily skip ahead with arrow keys and navigate the video. Cheers!

Ah, so that's what those ghosts are. I came across my first one yesterday and it nearly one-shotted me with its wand.I figured it was a regular enemy from the side biome that picked up a wand, but was wondering why it was so powerful. lol

i would love some long nightmare runs. thats a real skill showcase. or showcase of how to get noita'd.(getting Noita'd makes for the best short vids/clips) Edit: for people who like to watch long runs taking your time and just enjoying a good run is generally what we like to see. also i dont mind chat from your vods, seeing you engaged and having fun with them means your not forcing yourself to talk. love the vids man keep up the good content.

I’m at 1:00:32 and yeah man this is great. As a noob to this game, it’s really helpful to see it all from the start, you show how to be super efficient. I didn’t even know you could use firebolt to get that orb on top of the mountain. I appreciate all the tips/info in this run!

When you picked up the Ghost wand I was about to say: Aight, this is where I stop learning something. But good to see that you stuck to your goal to teach newcomers. I'm currently like 15 hours into Noita and only managed to reach the Vault once. Looking forward to winning my first run at some point :)

In my first win, i used the perk mode (1 perk only) and i get the invisibility perk, rush all levels but in temple of art i founded a really good wand and make a 500 damage wand and win I personally think its amazing how 1 win triggers others wins in a roll, you become a new player. Sorry if the english is bad, i not a fluency english speaker, in numbers 3/10

I just started the game, I think I have 5 hours in it, and somebody on Reddit pointed me to your channel. This was super informative, and I really enjoyed the delivery style, it was a really fun video. I'll go check out some of your tutorial videos too. Noita is great. I'm having a blast exploring and experimenting with all the materials and spell combinations, and killing myself in new and interesting ways.
