Ay :) it’s just past Halloween in the south of England, and I took a moment from scrolling through my phone and giving my bleeding eyeballs a rest. Homeschooled, happy, very bookish, these stories, the dramatised versions of these books by Roald Dahl, changed me so that I’d hide a CD player in the corner of the top bunk covers, on a double bunk I’d shared with my brother. Oh, the story isn’t necessary! But jeez, I sat on the windowsill this night and wondered if this was what the witching hour looked like.. I’m surprised that the copyrights aren’t following the stories here but I laughed a very excited laugh when I had searched for the dramatised version…! You’re fantastic! I appreciate these stories being spread further :) So I’m going to sit with my feet outside the window and listen to the story a while

@@foxteen8721 what are these from originally? Because if I listen to the movie of the big friendly giant either of them they don’t sound like they do in this which I actually think this is great. I’ve also listen to George’s marvelous medicine and I know that book as well.
@foxteen87213 жыл бұрын
@@christophercruz5891 These are from the company Penguin Books, in 1998. I'd say Cosgrove's adaptation is more faithful (apart from the ending where as the BFG in this version says in London). George is a good listen, but one of my commenters pointed out something very relevant which is how they left out the gin.

@marhier2 жыл бұрын
@@foxteen8721 Specifically? It was missing the best line from the book: _"Human beans from Chile, is very chilly..."_ There were a few instances where they removed sections of text from the book... Why? Also, didn't like Geoffrey Palmer's portrayal of The BFG... No character to it; sounded more like one of the bigger giants... Compare it Cribbins' version mentioned in my original comment... Much more fun and lovable. But most importantly........... Chilly!
