I have so many old paintings that no longer reflect where I’m at (some are at least 30 years old ) but watching this video has given me so many ideas. Thank you 🙏

When looking for insperation I often go dig up old art work, thanking god I didn't throw out. I love old chairs, Wood tables and doors, fascinated with doors, Saw one of your clips that was in Kent, I went in 77 and met my grandmother she was in Margate. I loved the sea side.. I really enjoyed Finchly and Harrow too.. love your holidays you take and you are marvelous with dressing and jewelry. Lovely taste!

Mood boards are so revealing! However, I don’t have room for large boards……so I have made a mood book…..a sketchbook whose cover represents my whims, likes and passions….,and inside some further inspirations….

Thank you for a lovely comment....much appreciated. We found the clay "long men" many years ago at a craft fair/market in the South of France. To my shame, I have lost the name of the artist, and I love it as much now as I did when we bought it !

I was horrified to see you 'scribble' all over a lovely painting! 😱 However, once you'd finished and split the canvases the end result was great! Quite different in spirit but still very appealing! Thank you for showing us what can be done!

I didn’t know about transcription in art, so thank you for this. I can see how you would learn so much by analysing and trying to recreate techniques and figure out how an artist you admire created their painting. I will be trying this out. Also, do you ever use a digital mood board? I’ve used Pinterest to collate things that interest me but wonder if there is more value in a physical board?
@gaynorpattle2 жыл бұрын
Hi Helen, Yes I have things on Pinterest but I don't tend to take the laptop in the cabin and then forget them - I love clipping things out and I do think there is merit in a physical board ! Give it a go😊

Apart from your artwork I love that black metal sculpture on the windowsill above the little radiator 😍. It makes me think of Giacometti! Did you sculpt it?
@gaynorpattle2 жыл бұрын
Hello April, would you believe it is clay !! Bought many years ago at an art market in the south of France. Writing this has brought back a very lovely memory of the day....needless to say I wanted everything on the potters stall, but only had room for the lovely tall men ! I am with you on Giacometti and a big fan.

Dear Gaynor, thank your video...it is amazing but I wanted to critize you ( But like positive ) there is figure you did before, you made the picture on him.. I think that your painting was old....I think you could have removed the painting from the canvas and re-passed the canvas cloth, and thus you would have preserved your own work.....Because that work is your past....In this way, you will see your own development personally. Of course, this is my idea. Sincerely

Hello Ahmet, thank you for such a good message. I have photographs of the old painting and after so long, not wanting to look at it, I needed to see what it could become ! I also have many other paintings from my past .... I am at a point where I don't want to be scared of changing things. Thank you again for a good comment.
