I looked into it, in lore Flamewakers *are* elementals, apparently. Elemental wasn't a tag when Blackrock came out, and I don't think they bothered with wild cards when they retroactively added the elemental tag to several cards when Un'goro came out. Having trouble finding a list, since the Un'goro patch doesn't state all the previously untyped cards that became elementals.

I have never found Book of Spectres worthwhile for my decks with Elemental Allies, the two cards just don't play well together. If book instead said something like "Draw a minion" it would almost be an autoinclude.
