Just made my first bag using this wonderful tutorial. I made mine in denim and using multi-coloured thread did a line of embroidery down the centre of each handle and around the top of the bag. I even managed to put a zipped pocket inside it with Debbie's great instructions from her new book 'Sewing Room Secrets'. Thank you so much Debbie you make everything so simple :)

I have been looking for the perfect bag to make my grandmother and now I found it. I have been learning to sew little by little and you are a talented teacher. I find many instructions online confusing. I simply cannot follow just word instructions, and if it is words with pictures, it has to be very clear and detailed. Your videos are everything I need and more to make beautiful things! I will be starting this bag very soon!

This is such a cute, fun bag. And your instructions were clear and easy to follow as always, Debbie. I hope to make this project soon. But I must confess that I missed a lot of the detail in the video, because I was laughing so hysterically at the closed captions that I literally had tears blurring my eyes and running down my face! Oh my. No words. Just. No words...

Made this bag, and love it! I'd been looking for patterns or 'how to' articles, hadn't found anything quite right. I'm picky when it comes to bags, I guess, recently shopped for one, didn't care for any, why should I pay $40 or $50 for something I don't like? Then I found this lady, she explains everything very well, tells you what matters & what doesn't, makes it EASY. I love my bag, one side is linen looks elegant, I think, the other a lavender stripe. Making bags for Mom & MIL for Moms Day!

Love the bag/purse. I lengthened the strap to put over my head. I may have put it a little to long thinking I would need to put more of the strap in between the fabric, but I'm okay with that. I also didn't line up the seam in one part, but again I'm okay with that. This will be for personal use. Thank you so much I appreciate the easy to make bag, I've never owned a purse in all my life and I'm 34.
