A Fun Video in Cedar Grove NJ

I love Cedar Grove because it was my boyhood hometown. I lived at the bottom of Squire hill Drive on the Fairway! I remember the reservoir, a few blocks from my house. I used to watch Marty Liquori practice running around it, when he was in high school, then he became the fastest mile runner in the country. I went to ridge road school for kindergarten in 1962. I then rode the school bus to Saint Catherine's of Siena catholic school until finishing fifth grade and my family moved to Aurora, Colorado, when I was eleven years old. I used to ice skate on Bowden's pond. I used to play in the woods behind our house. There used to be a railroad track at the end of my backyard, us kids would hike down the tracks. People would commute to and from NYC, and we would wave to them as the passenger trains would pass by. There were also freight trains. I remember playing in the brook, and remember when they built new houses in the Glenn. The high school used to be named Memorial high. Right next to it was Taylor's ice cream. My Dad was our little league manager of the Cedar Grove Twins; if we won our game, he would buy us ice cream cones! I loved the New York Yankees and Mrs. Fabisch, our Den mother, took us on a field trip to see them play in 1963 in the cub scouts! Yes, Mickey Mantle was my favorite player. We don't have box turtles or salamanders in Colorado, which is one of the things I missed as a boy after moving West. Thanks, Tom Lippi Denver, Colorado

Pompton Ave (that later becomes rt 23) is based on an old Lenape trail that runs through the Skylands, all the way to Port Jervis -- where NY/NY/PA connect.

Bill Hooper sorry i have to comment on this wonderful video i really liked it and got to see how cool Cedar grove New Jersey but i need to tell you this now before it gets worse do not feel safe around Micheal Hooper he steals kids money at school and makes little kids pay for his snacks also he says very inappropriate words too them he is very disrespectful too his other classmates i have witness this happen multiple time and somebody has to step there foot in and stop this i am counting on you too change him me and his other friends try tell him that he needs to stop getting trouble for the better for his future but he does not listen and continue to be very disrespectful. but i enjoyed that video you made keep up the good content and also i have a video idea you should explore Lyndhurst NJ.

Bill Hooper, i am very sorry for interrupting this beautiful one of a kind video of cedar grove i really didn’t know a lot about this town and i got to know it very well i appreciate this video. i dont mean to come out here and be a loser and tell on your brother. but he has been a huge bully at Lyndhurst Middle School. Multiple times i have tried to talk to him and ask him if anything is going on at home that’s making him act like this so sudden. he is stealing peoples money and making them pay for him. he was such a nice kid. he used to help me with my math projects because i don’t know what i’m doing. now he just rips it up, please. talk to him, i miss him the way he used to be. give us michael back!
