Batik is an illustrated Indonesian fabric that is specially made with a wax-resist dyeing technique that is applied to the entire fabric. Batik is considered an important cultural icon in Indonesia. Indonesian people wear batik as casual and formal clothing that can be used in various events. The batik motifs include animal, human, geometric, and other motifs. Batik motifs are often also used to show one's status. Batik is a hereditary tradition. Because of this, often batik motifs are the hallmark of batik produced by certain families.

I think it’s for transferring the coat pattern onto the bottom paper to create a new pattern, if that makes sense 😊
