I actually liked this. It gets a lot of shit but I really don’t know why. It’s a modern take on a classic 60s show and it kept the charm. Jim Varney (God bless him) was one of the most underrated actors of his time and should’ve done so much more. Diedrich Bader was hilarious, as was Rob Schneider, Lea Thompson was fabulous as usual, Lily Tomlin was brilliant but Cloris Leachman was the real star as Granny. I thought on the whole the movie did a good job retaining the charm of the show and the story was good. It doesn’t deserve people shitting on it and while it’s certainly not a masterpiece it’s a fun and enjoyable film that pays homage to a classic tv show.

They did make good choices for the cast. I'm not much of a Lily Tomlin fan but she was Miss Jane without a doubt.
