To help decrease your raccoon pressure get that Gallagher garden kit and put it around the perimeter of the area you need. Can't believe we seen big Rob without a hat on. Great update.

nice update Rob, those are cool looking tomatoes. I'm using thyme as a groundcover around most of my fruit trees in our mini-orchard, and it works great at keeping weeds down. Plus I can trim it and give handfuls to the chickens when it gets a bit overgrown

Thanks Dave! Awesome to know the thyme idea is being used by someone whose experience we trust. The wild thyme is supposed to grow as a low mat so hopefully we don't need to cut it. We put a different thyme in the containers so we cab use it for the hens though. French or Summer thyme I believe.

@@EssayonsFG mine is super short, too it just keeps creeping along, so I trim it back a bit. Not invasive at all, but will spread slow and steady. you'll love it, I bet

I really enjoyed the tour around ! Everything seems to be doing really well . I'm getting in my burnt out mode in the garden lol . At this point i'm so over the weeding watering and mowing . Now i'm pretty much in the get what we got coming on put up for winter and leave the weeds . It's getting too dang hot now to be messing with all that lol . Thanks for sharing and have a great day !

The silage tarp helps but is replacing mowing with weeding around the edges until we get it all down. LOL Just got a new roll of tarp and more garden states so hopefully we get it finished this week. Thanks Tammy. I've been doing too much reading again and came across some articles on "Living" or "Green" mulches and thyme has been listed as a great options. It was also an option to replace grass as a lawn.
