We never use braid for catfishing anymore. We have lost so many fish thanks to it breaking. You got some really cool spots to fish down there. Were i live, everybody and there brother fish the spots and if your lucky to find something over 5lbs its a win. The water if fish is a long ways from were most people fish and we get alot of channels over 20lbs but we dont have many flatheads anymore and we dont have blues. and only common gar. We cant use carp as bait either anymore. Great video again thanks!

Yeah, braid definitely has its drawbacks. Sad that you don't have flatheads and blues that often anymore but a 20lb channel sounds like fun!

As a resident of south Florida, I’m jealous of the blue catfish. I chased trophy channels and a small invasive population of blues when I lived in northern Delaware, and although south Florida’s fishing is amazing, I miss my catfish buddies. We don’t have any blues or flatheads and only small amount of channels focused around the inland sea, lots of hard heads and mottled bullheads though.

I've caught a 9 1/2 pound largemouth out of my larger (12 acre pond). But people have caught 12+! And the record crappie is just under 3 1/2 lbs. Nothing insane. But tons of fun!

I just picked up a 5601c4 for lures and carp. Be careful with that jigging handle. Without a counterbalance, casting might cause the handle to rotate and stop the spool.

Power handle is literally looks perfect match on round baitcasting reel. I swapped my handles of Banax BMG and Omoto Chief to power handle and dang~ they work so matching in catfishing

Just trial and error. Pull up your Google maps, look for interesting features on the water and give one a try. You might find yourself a killer spot!

I had that same rod, until I let my wife use it. She turned her back and away went the rod . I think it was the biggest fish she ever hooked. Didn't get to see it though. We don't have any spillways .

watch mangrove jack fishing in australia mate, we use 15lb braid and get wrapped around pontoons and trees and dont get rubbed off i doubt 50lb braid would snap with the slightest knick.
