Hello, I would encourage you to stop using the term "born again Christian". We are Christians, there is no such thing as a "born again Christian" there are only Christians. In order to be a Christian you must be born again, which makes the term redundant. It's like saying atm machine, or NIC card. Just think of this, if you take away the "born again" portion, you are left with Christian, is there something different about a Christian and a "born again Christian"? No, there is not. 😊😊😊😊

It's not as though humanity is without hope. It's just that humanity is altogether fallible. All men are fallible. All men sin, so to speak. We not only fail ourselves daily, but we fail God (whether you accept it or not; that's not my concern). We require a moral standard. Certainly law and governments have done what they can to rectify and uphold morality for common people, but people will still find ways to get around it and people will always break laws (both governmental and moral/inward).

Not saying it to glorify yourself or to show someone your knowledge of scripture, but just to encourage a stranger that there is someone much larger than yourself at work here and that someone loves you with an inexpressable love that can only be uddered with a whisper or gesture of hope. Mr. Jillette is an atheist, but still recognized that another human being who believes 100% what I believe, cared enough about him to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with him. My sole purpose of this comment is to voice my level of admiration for this viewpoint of what this was about. It's about a human being caring about another human being. And I'm glad to see that being recognized by Mr. Jillette. What a world if both sides could demonstrate that kind of exchange. I'm a Christian, I love you, respect your position and want you to know this Good News. There's simply not enough proof to deny Christianity. Researchers (even Atheist ones) say that Jesus not rising from the dead would be a bigger miracle than him resurrecting. They say this because it has been factually proven that Jesus had completely died, no faked death. And then 3 days later hundreds of people are claiming to have seen the exact same guy sharing the same idea to each of them. Mr. Jillette thank you for posting and you are 100% correct and have challenged me as a Christian to be better about the sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. Just on a side note since you said in another interview that reading the Bible was proof to you that there was no God, "if you don't believe me just start reading and by Leviticus you will understand". This could be why this person in the audience gave you the a copy of the New Testament only. There are a lot of Christians out there who don't care anything about people and wouldn't even bother sharing the gospel. I was victimized by an entire community twenty years ago (which created such a canyon in my life that it continues to impact my life today) but the majority of Christians I have met have done what the man in this story has done. And I realize that I have not shared the gospel with all that many people in my 49 years here. Something I need to work on. Every person on the planet deserves the gift of hearing about the gospel and salvation. And as someone wrote further down we can argue until the end of time. You can make your own decision. Like a Father to son relationship and the only way we can know him better is to read what he did, and that's found in the bible. Jesus is Calling you to him, Jesus Loves you right where you are, sometimes life circumstances makes it hard for some people to see and hear the truth but, never the less I'm telling you that when You except Jesus Christ as you Lord and Savior you will start your eternal life. Would it matter if they had just come from a bible study, or a gang meeting? Even a devout atheist (if they were honest) would have to admit the bible believing youth would be of no real concern, they might even help you. While the gang members would present a real threat to your security. Why? Because what these young men believe would indeed change their thoughts, words and actions. :)

His recalling of this event improved me as a Christian. That statement will horrify some fans. I'm not trying to pick a fight... AT ALL. I watched this twice. I'm not claiming this, but we're told that we sometimes entertain angels, unaware. Also...a "businessman." Jesus was a businessman. He was "about His Father's business." Interesting video that I NEVER anticipated being interesting.

Utility68 Penn was touched by the humanity, not the fact that the man was proselytizing about Christianity. He was moved by the fact that a stranger cared about him as much as the man did. Atheists can be moved by beauty in everyday life, we just don't attribute it to something invisible. I'm an atheist, and I always cry when I read a story about someone doing something altruistic, it's called being a human... no gods needed.

I remember watching this 12 years ago when it came out. I was wrestling with my faith, as all good college students do. Certainly wasn't an evangelical type of theist, was more of a, I dunno, libertarian individualistic "you do you because I'd rather you leave me be" kind of believer. It was Penn's story here that inspired a conversation in my head. The discussion was between me, and my interpretation of Penn. "He" actually argued the position that if I was going to call myself a believer, I should want to reach as many people as possible. If I were truly saved from hell, wasn't it reasonable to want to have more and more people be saved from hell too? This internal, virtual exchange caused me to conclude a more honest and complete position than the one I had previously. Being an individual of integrity like the one in this story shines through as salt and light more so than any sermonizing.

Hm. Interesting. I believe the occult or dark magic is the Best Proof the Spirit Realm IS REAL, and hes been exposed to all of that yet he cant see... so sad. Now he cant say the Living God didnt reach out to him. God is JUST and He makes sure we all have a chance to hear His Truth to then make our choice to believe or not to believe. With a humble heart I suggest to any atheist to reconsider your belief system. It all sums up to two options to chooses from, Life or Death. If you reject the God that GIVES AND CREATES LIFE what other choice will you have left? Please reconsider. Research the bible and youll learn it has a back bone and its amazingly supernatural. The Bible completely correlates with documented history and archaeological findings with lots of compelling proof its inspired by the Living God; and most importantly written from His point of view. Please Do yourself a favor and choose LIFE....Jesus is Real and Hes still alive today. He defeated death and us by believing and following Him( by Faith) also inherit eternal life. Thats one of His promises, but if you want to know more about what the LIVING GOD has to say...you must read the book for yourself. So again, please...choose wisely. Peace.

Imagine for a moment that you're...you: a limited human being, with no way to reach beyond your senses, and forever doubtful even of the loudest, most self-assured proclamations of those who claim to speak in the name of "science." What can you honestly say you _know?_ Beyond the shadow of a doubt? I'm a former physicist. What I "know" comes down to this: 1) We can observe certain patterns in nature and describe them mathematically. 2) Sometimes, yesterday's math gives way to new math that does the job better. 3) All such is forever open to question, especially at the margins. God, if He exists, is beyond human experimentation. We cannot, by the nature of limited Man, be certain of anything about Him, including whether He exists at all. The atheist says "I know that there's no god." He thinks he has _knowledge,_ when even physicists are aware of the uncertainties in all human statements and measurements! Therein lies the difference between the agnostic, who is unconvinced but open to argument and evidence, and the atheist, who has made _disbelief_ into his personal _faith._ Think hard about which side of Pascal's Wager you'd prefer to take.

Penn, Thank you for sharing your sentiments as they are very honest, sincere, and commendable. As a man yourself who has read the Bible at least 4x through some of these scriptures I am sure you will remember. I don’t quote them out of spite, condemnation, or to shame. Our motive is simply one of faith, hope, and motivated by love as you expressed in this video. “Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.” Romans 5:1-11 NLT While I know you claim that you know there is no God and this man’s gesture is not going to change this I know for a fact that one day you will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and bow your knee to Him in acknowledgement. It is going to happen, it has already been appointed. Not because God is going to force you or manipulate some strings as on a puppet. It is something God already sees because He has no beginning or end. He already knows your life from start to finish and is not constrained by time. The key to your confession is on which side of eternity will your confession be made? God truly loves you and has already demonstrated that love toward you. I ask all those who read this to please continue to pray for Penn. That God will continue to woo and draw him to Himself. As someone already said many seeds have been planted many of which have been planted by Penn himself as he has read the Bible many times. Those seeds have also been watered and we must believe that God will surely reap the harvest. We all know that God is a gentlemen and He will not force Penn to confess and bow. Penn is going to do that on his own. Please pray specifically that he does it on this side of eternity.
