My parents were told that I would be unlikely to pass my 11+ test to go to grammar school but I did. I am not exceptional at any particular subject but during my working life seemed to quickly understand ideas and concepts that others struggled with. I still didn’t regard myself as anything special but took the Mensa test out of interest and was classed in the top 1%. This ability has overall proved very useful but can be a problem being several steps of virtually everyone around you when viewing or analysing situations. It doesn’t always make social conversations easy!

I am a teacher and I have dyslexia. I always tell my children that I’m going to make mistakes and salad and if you could buy them in the dictionary, you get a point years later years later, one of my students who was devil grown up, met me and my children had a record store. I did recognize them of course because he was a grown-up, but he turned to my children and said do you know what your mother played the best game, she pretended like she could spell and if we found it in the dictionary, we were good. Kids started laughing like crazy. She doesn’t spell however I have continuously gotten the awards for a gifted teacher.

Some one stated we don't know Newton's IQ as the test was not yet created. However the test is created using his theories along with Einstein's theories and other theories of other geniuses. I did not pass the 9th grade and yet scored near perfect on my GED at 16. I took the ASVAB at 22 and scored a 98, or top 3 percent however you want to look at it. I never went to college. Never had an IQ test but I play chess 5 moves ahead for fun. I bank all of my shots on a pool table just for practice and run the table 58 percent of the time. Honestly I can build anything I've designed and built many things that will outlast man kind. I am not a genius, I'm just blessed.

I have my IQ tested, at the hospital, twice a year. Guess why? I would say, that IF things are as you posted, then you should have your IQ tested. I think you are in for a shock, that will deflate your ego somewhat. You seem to suggest that anyone with a high IQ is NOT BLESSED?

@Demun1649 absolutely not I believe personally that I am NOT a genius. I just believe that I am blessed just to be writing these few words, I am supposed to be dead according to science. But for some reason I just won't die. I have not intentionally tried to hurt myself, it's the life I was dealt. So as far as my heart and soul is concerned, I Am BLESSED. I don't want an IQ test. Why would I? Who cares? For in the old days the only thing that mattered was the character of a man, a man with a weak character was a liability, a man with a strong, ethical and moral countenance was more likely to be a stable friend that he might be able to rely on in hard times. Intelligence would not have been a paramount desire in the friendship, unless of course one was fed by a silver spoon. I hope you have a life as blessed as mine.💗

If you felt I was gloating about my life you would be very wrong. I do not have a narcissistic bone in my body. I lived homeless for many years, not because I was forced, I just could not stand working for condescending humans who thought that their life was more important than mine, dictating to me how I should live my life or their time was not worthy of the likes of me. You know the type, those who, at the end of the day could, without factual evidence destroy a 20 year career with nothing more than their influence and bald faced lies. God bless you friend.

We don't actually know wtf Newton's IQ was because that test came out in the 20th century, not in Newton's era. An estimated IQ isn't the same thing as actual testing for IQ. High IQ is also no guarantee of future success or amazing discoveries.
