One thing I find really interesting is the mention of how the father liked to drink so much, in light of how beer is the health in this game. Really helps support the mother's letter about the main character becoming "just like him".

Not much to....well "every details" there but I think I can get the picture here. The son (Idk what's his name 🤣) is a crazy, alcoholic and abusive (Idk if that's true if it implies "like your father" there). He had a very rough childhood cause of his father always beat him up, and only his mother that shows his love and kindness. And when he grew up, he started to become like his father, I still don't know if he still love his mother and not....well abuse her (maybe when he's drunk Idk?). I'm guessing that Sabrina is not really his wife. Maybe like his "crazy unhealthy love at first sight" (in this case slightly yandere), maybe they use to date but ended up broke up (I'm guessing Sabrina the one who wants to separate). Feeling betrayed by his "love" for her and didn't wants to end this relationship, he kidnapped her and held her in the secret room. That explains why the news about the police still searching something (or someone), his detective books, beers somehow becoming his "health bar", his mother's dying letter. In another word, *HE JUST FREAKING CRAZY ALCOHOLIC LIKE HIS FATHER!!!*

Plotline aside, as someone who cares for his infirm mom the idea of something happening to her terrifies me. For instance, when the pandemic started and doctors warned that the elderly were vulnerable and that wearing a mask was one of the best ways to not spread COVID to someone you love, I marched right down to my basement and slapped a mask on the woman I keep captive down there. Better safe than sorry, you know.

One of the reasons I watch this channel is because Manly plays underrated games especially RPG games and it helps me find what game I should play next. This video has a good story to it and we can all agree the intruder is feeling rather stabby today. This game also reminds me of the RPG game he played called Don't Die. The story is somewhat close.

_"Oh no! We walk slow"_ The perfect set up for a horror game lol. The writing was nice and tight. Just enough weird little hints that frankly, I wasn't sure. The three toothbrushes could have been from his father, mother, and him also. Sabrina's extreme aggression in hindsight was so sad. Anything to get away from him. Matched the sadness of his mother's note about him becoming like his father. This was really enjoyable. The one chase was almost too tight in timing as well as the walk to the bathroom - but you always get the timing down perfectly, so I can relax, knowing you will beat the game no problem.

What tipped me of was actually how protag only thinks about healing himself after the first arm slice. I mean it's logical, but if I were in his situation, I would immeditately worry about my mom first, since the 'invader' went right upstairs and we already known she's bedridden. I would be very conflicted about whether I should run up to protect my mom first (since she could easily already be stabbed by the time I finished healing) or healing myself first. And the victim blaming at the true end was honestly chilling. He takes on the mindset of "Be thankful I didn't kill you", "You don't want to make me angry again", "This mess is your fault for trying to escape". Combine those with "I don't want to be alone", "I take care of my mom", "She was very beautiful"... are just... I dunno, I have a weak spot on faux selflessness/ faux vulnerability mindset of selfish monster

It's a twist we've seen more than once, but it's still well done here. I imagine Sabrina here was just kidnapped, that's what the protagonist is meaning about the unknown "he"; probably her actual husband or boyfriend that the protagonist took her from. Regardless of the how, it made for a nice disturbing ending. Sabrina will not give up trying to escape, and I'd like to see a sequel to this where she does just that.

Spoilers, but given the mom's note and how she directly compared what he was doing to her abusive (presumably now dead) husband, I'd imagine Sabrina is probably his wife. Or at least a girlfriend, or some kind of relationship like that. Plus there's a photo of her in the tv room. And if I'm remembering right it mentions her being beautiful before something happened, probably whatever caused our protag to lock her up in the first place. Maybe she tried to leave him? I'm just guessing though. I like this game a lot though. The twist is clear if you know what you're looking for, but it tells a good story, and it doesn't feel too short or too long. Also, and this might be a weird thing, but I like the map/sprite work. Idk if they're premade assets or not, but the game itself looks pretty good.

This game is a lot worse than the video shows though. The precision needed for the button mashing and bleeding-out segment are really tedious. Developers adding tedious segments to pad run-time is bad game design and often kills immersion
