Hi. Lovely to see you settling in to your wonderful home. My husband is from the village where you live and I grew up near by. We got married in the church there and my husbands parents are buried in the churchyard. Always loved those properties. When we were younger we had many evenings in the pub and my husband went to the primary school. Best wishes to you both.

An idea for both of you for seasonal storage could be getting rid of all that fake leaf foliage and just go outside and find amazing dried things to bring in! It would fit perfectly in your place as well! Your cottage is ridiculously charming!🎉

Thomas… Sometimes if I hear a music that I really love in a KZbin video I will find it on Google and usually it’s on Spotify… Oh my goodness, you are such a gifted composer! I am now following you on Spotify because I love your vibe! I actually was trying to hear the song you used at the beginning and for some reason my Googlemusic finder couldn’t find it but then I found it on Spotify! Oh my goodness, you are so gifted!

I love the tapastries on the walls, as they make your home look so cosy. The kitchen utensils and cutlery match so well with your surroundings. I wouldn't put too much clutter with all the plastic leaves etc. and where will you store when you take down?

@FanTaisiaLifestyle3 күн бұрын
Thank you 😊 The tapestries are all from EBay (only one of them new, all the other ones are vintage). Just keep looking out for them, they are expensive, but I was checking the new listings every day to find a good bargain 😄
@kathiejones12363 күн бұрын
@@FanTaisiaLifestyleThank you for your reply. How to you secure your garlands on the beams? I have trouble doing that 🤦♀️ I was watching your video and my husband commented on the beautiful music and asked about it. I explained it is your own composition and he was so impressed😍x
@FanTaisiaLifestyle3 күн бұрын
Thank you so much, Thomas is a great composer, I’m very lucky to have him 😊 Yes, sorry, forgot to mention. I just use the existing nails in the beams. But if you need it more secure, you can get proper hook screws with a safety clip (will be using these for the garden string lights)

I wondered if you knew the interesting history on your tapestry; I have the same image, mine is 60 yrs old so the design has been reproduced for a long time. There was a set of six French Tapestries entitled "The Lady and the Unicorn", each one depicting one of the senses, and each one depicting a lady, a lion and a unicorn. (This one is the sense of hearing) These 15th century Tapestries were discovered in a castle in France in the 1840's. Pretty interesting I think.

@FanTaisiaLifestyle4 күн бұрын
Oh, good luck with your redecorating. Most of the items I get are from EBay, charity shops or Facebook market. All the new items are mostly from Temu and SHEIN (don’t like advertising Chinese websites, but they are really good for decorations and small things). Also, have a look at Etsy❤️

Love the aesthetic you are creating in such an exceptional little house, but my gosh!! I can not get over the amount of plastic packaging being used in the UK! it's horrific!
@FanTaisiaLifestyle2 күн бұрын
Yes, unfortunately a lot. But I always recycle them (unfortunately you can only recycle the packaging and plastic bags at the large stores, so there are very few of us who do it)
@suewilkinson9103 күн бұрын
You have so little storage space. Where will you keep all this seasonal stuff? Do you have a plan for that? A shed? Storage unit? If you don't have a plan you will be overwhelmed after Christmas let alone after a full year. Beware the clutter. It very soon gets out of hand in small old cottages.
@FanTaisiaLifestyle3 күн бұрын
Yes, will have to watch out for it. For now we still have lots of storage. And vintage suitcases are a great decor - storage space for decorations. We also have a small space for a storage box at the back of the gate, past the garden.
@suewilkinson9103 күн бұрын
@@FanTaisiaLifestyle It's good to think of it from the start because it can get out of hand fast! We've lived in our cottage for nearly 30 years and I'm having to do a massive clear out now. I don't really want too, but needs must. We've silted up. Not helped by turning the small stone barn in our garden which housed everything for outside and tools etc., into a home for my mum to live in.

Your new light fittings are not going to last too long if you handle them the way you're doing at the minute
@fionasimagination4 күн бұрын
All that cheap crap will not last and end up in a landfill. It only gives you a short thrill when buying it but isn't even worth the little money you spent on it. In the long run it would bring you a lot more joy and value for your money if you bought secondhand things from charity shops or market places online. There you can get things equally priced but a lot better quality without further harming the environment. Those things will continue to last you instead of ending in the garbage after a short period. I'm unfortunately talking from experience here😅 I mean this as good advice since I don't want you to be equally disappointed in a bit.❤
@debbiesittard76533 күн бұрын
Agree 100% I can't stand that cheap plastic stuff mass produced in CHINA. Thrift stores, Charity shops. Vintage all the way!
@FanTaisiaLifestyle3 күн бұрын
Agree with some of it, I definitely prefer vintage and charity shops. But sometimes things like seasonal decorations (apart from Christmas) are very rare to come by, and it would take years of hunting. I don’t see why decorative pumpkins and leaf garlands wouldn’t last for decades to come.
@fionasimagination3 күн бұрын
@FanTaisiaLifestyle because they are so cheaply made that they almost fall apart at the first touch. The leaves fray and the styrofoam crumples. They are so cheaply made that they really only last one season. And it actually brings a lot of joy to slowly build up a collection for seasonal decor. Hunting every year and adding slowly over time makes it a lot more special. You don't need an entire finished new decor every year. You can start out with a few nice things and also make a lot yourself or forage for a few real leaves in the years when you haven't built up a big collection yet.
@debbiesittard76533 күн бұрын
@ My comment is not intended to criticize or belittle whatsoever. Your cottage is so beautiful (and old) that I think it would be gorgeous to have lovely vintage decor. You can most definitely use pumpkins and garlands for several years nothing wrong with that. And you are correct in saying it takes a long time sometimes years to acquire just the right vintage decor. I think you both are on an excellent start. Happy Hunting! ⛄️ Debbie, NE Texas (USA)
@FanTaisiaLifestyle3 күн бұрын
Oh, fair enough. It makes sense if they fall apart straight away. My experience was always good with these decorations. I have a few fake plants and they lasted a couple of years now (and survived a house move with no damage), so I guess it depends ❤️
@sugarbomb263 күн бұрын
You are a lovely person, and I mean this in the kindest way: Your charming cottage doesn't need all the fake looking plastic decor from Temu. I think it brings the look down. You seem to live close to nature, so how about finding some natural grasses, branches, evergreen foliage to bring in the autumn? It would be a fun video watching you source natural items and create something beautiful out of it. Hooray to you for buying so many items from thrift stores that add charm and character and match your home:)

😄 young - perhaps, it’s our first home so we’re figuring out how it works. Batteries are still operating a month later 😄 And the heating works well, it’s also very well insulated as it’s a terraced cottage (to an extent that the bedroom gets too hot at night). Plus we’re in the south, and the weather here is the mildest in the UK. So we’re good, this winter definitely will survive 😄❤️
